I was just curious what happens after the 3 month free trial for XM Radio, do they just turn off the feed to the radio?

How do they know which radio has it, if you don't sign up for XM Radio on the website?

Does anyone know? Has anyone here used a 3 month trial before?

Thanks!

Hi Gren, olyumabill here. Yes if you do not call and signup to extend your contract they just turn off your signal. I'll bet after 3 mo. you will not want to be without your XM Radio. I love mine so much I have just installed one in my home. Hope this helps. bill

I bought an 09 rouge in nov and had the 3 months. with about a month remaining, I got a letter from XM in the mail asking if i wanted to renew it. you can call or order online and they will keep your account active. if not, they just turn the feed off. I dont know how exactly the feed gets shut off cause I renewed my subscription about a week before it was cut off.

I think I must be the only person around that does NOT like XM radio. I have had the hardest time trying to find a station that I'd rather listen to than my local stations or my iPod with no luck... which is good in the long run I guess because I won't feel compelled to buy a subscription.

I have mixed feelings about XM radio. It's nice to have the option to listen to new music, old music, talk radio, etc. but I find that I really only listen to 3 channels regularly and see all of the other going to waste (with my listening habits!)

I can see XM as a great option for someone that travels for long distances and doesn't want to bother finding local stations with the style of music they like.

Two years ago, in a wind storm, I lost one third of the roof on my house, and was without power for five days. The three things I missed most were: heat, light, and XM. After two days, I couldn't stand it anymore, and jerry-rigged a system so that while I still didn't have light or heat, I could listen to my XM. I really, really love XM! While I also listen to only a few channels, they are so good I don't have to change much!

That's what happened to me today! I received a letter in the mail from XM asking if I wanted to renew, otherwise they will turn it off. I'm still not sure what I will do, but I probably will renew it if I miss it after it's turned off!

Just in case anyone is concerned about price. An XM radio subscription is only about $15/month for all the channels. There is also a discount if you only want family friendly channels.

I have a Delphi personal XM Radio that I let expire and have used in a while (never worked at my old job or apartment) Is anyone familiar with this? I kept meaning to put it on my FiT but never got around to it. Does the magnetic satelite reciever ruin the paint surfaces of a car?

Also, do they still have the audio/visions channel?

Hey useful uh .. use for the shag carpet I could probably put the reciever on there and it should keep the magnet from interfeering with the insturment panel.

By buying a three year deal, I think I'm paying less than $10 a month.
If you look at the XM website it is $12.95 for XM Everything and $9.99 for mostly music. $16.99 for the XM Ginormous package.

If they offered a package for $5.00 for 3 years contract or something, I would do it. $10.00 a month thought for radio that can be had for free in this economy. XM is fun but not a must for me.
