Hey guys, I was looking at wind deflectors to install myself, because I didn't think to get the package from the dealer :-[ , but it should be much cheaper this way.

anyho, here's the link to what I'm looking at. http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan...2009-cube-p-622353.html?cPath=9273_9439_9440&

I don't really tinker with cars, or much else for that matter (except computer stuff) so I'm a bit leary at DiY projects. The manual is on the site in .pdf format. My question is, how difficult is it to remove and re-attach the glass run. If I were to screw it up, how would I get that replaced and about how much would that cost?

Can any of you concieve a different way of installing these that may be simpler or not involve removing the glass run.

Thanks in advance for the input.

:) the window deflectors are put on with 3-M tape, they don't go in window grooves. Easy to install just line up, peel tape and stick on. once these are on they stay on with no leaks. have used this type of deflector on other cars i have owned and work great. john

Ok I just installed these on mine. It took 15 min each side. Wasn't difficult at all. The little metal clip is added support during high winds. Trust me. This is a great benefit. I had visors on my XB and they were only held on by the 3m tape. The added support is needed when going thru windy canyons. Mine went in right away and the rubber strip went right back up like new.

When I read the instructions, my first reaction was what is this going to cost to fix. Imagine my surprise/shock when a first tentative pull revealed how easy these window runs are to remove. Emboldened by the ease of step one, before you knew it, voila, a set of wind defectors installed.

I like em.

Wind deflectors? Seriously? You're driving a brick on wheels . . . Come on, folks.
A brick maybe, but an aerodynamicly enhanced brick ;-)

In truth I put these on for two reasons -- and both are about our dog. You can leave the windows open for her without them appearing open & it will keep the rain out when open. And when driving, she gets to have a good sniff without being blasted -- very important with a standard poodle -- try combing out a windblown tangled topnot!

I put mine on for reasons being I live where it is between 85-115 all year long. So I can leave the windows down and not worry about someone getting in. I also have it to help save me a few months on the cracked front window.

Yeah, I have the preferred package and the rockford-fosgate system is easily up to that task but sometimes I just like to cruise in silence or when I'm talking to passenger. I haven't hooked up a bluetooth phone yet but I'm sure it will help it too if the interior dB's are lower.

yep i'm ordering these tonight! i work in a part of hawaii where the rain just comes out of nowhere. and it ALWAYS rained on my saturn when i'd crack the windows after parking. i think God just enjoyed toying with me. because whenever i don't crack them, it wouldn't rain.
