Picked up a left over 2009 SL on the lot, sticker was $19,400. They took it to invoice, plus the $1000 nissan cash back, plus the $500 for my wife being a recent college grad. Car price was $16,600.

iInever heard of this until I read about it on here...Does anyone know if there is a way to purchase GAP insurance AFTER the deal has been made (like months after) or is this only possible at the time of purchase?

Rolled $800 off my trade in, pay $310 @ 4.49% for 60 months.

Paid msrp $13900 plus the destination charge of $760 I believe. Ended up $14700ish

Then you gotta figure tax, title, license etc.

My wife paid MSRP plus State registration fees. The tried to push the extras ( extended warranty. prepaid maintenance, and fancy proctectants) after saying NO at least 10 times she left with the car.

Very doubtful. On a side note. I forgot to mention my gap coverage. $200 yes $200 from my credit union where I got my loan. As they stated, the dealer makes almost 3 times the cost as profit due to mark up on gap coverage.

although my insurance is killing me (18, first time buyer, brand new car) im having to live off of liability at the moment ($150 a month) rather than getting full coverage (~$400 a month)
