I really want to trade in my nitro for the base model of the cube w/ automatic, dont want anything else

I have an offer for 15,580 which is alitle above invoice here. its a blue s auto

but the most i can get for the nitro is 13,500 which leaves me almost 3,000 upside down ugh

do u guys think its worth it to get out of a big suv and into this car?

I drive ALOT, its 16 miles one way to my work so its like 30 miles a day.

Just wanted to get some opinions ...Thx

my other option was to wait till the 2010 ones come out and try to get a 09 cheaper

I didn't have the upside down issue. You might get a better idea of whether or not it would be worth it if you calculate out how much you are spending now on fuel for the Nitro compared to what you'd probably be saving on the Cube. It might end up balancing out. I was looking into buying a Nitro but didn't because it didn't do so well for fuel economy.

I went upside down for my cube. I had a Mazda Tribute that got horrible gas mileage. I carried over (after trade-in) about $2900 and to me, it was worth it. The dealership where I purchased my cube gives an incentive of free oil changes, free state inspections, and powertrain warranty for the life of the car. That, on top of the fantastic gas mileage, and I was sold. Try negotiating with the dealership too. I was able to get about $1700 off the end price.

Yes, I was upside down. Sadly I got no concessions from the dealer - and in fact I paid for services not received... still trying to resolve this with them before taking them to court.

Bravo for those of you who live near honest & generous dealers.

I owed $15500 on my 08 F150 and they gave me $9500 for it on trade in. I got the base Cube with GAP ins. and extended warranty and my payments went up $50 a month. Also my car ins. went up a tad bit but what I save on gas and the excitement I get everytime I drive, look or even talk about my Cube is so worth the carry over. 3 weeks and 1400 miles later.....NO regrets yet.

That stinks. I currently drive an 08 Scion xB (switching to a Cube in a little over a year once I finish up grad school), and I'm trying to minimize the negative equity. Seems like a vicious cycle that one can only break by either paying off the car or selling it and coming up with the difference.

If you drive alot, (sound like you do) then I would suggest getting out from under the Nitro. The savings on fuel will work out in the long run and if you love your new cube more, it's totally worth it.
