Thoughts on why Nissan doesn't off the 6 speed in all models

I'm in the market for a Cube and am very disappointed in the fact I can only get the base or the "S" model with a 6 speed manual.

I've driven manuals all my life and here in Chicago the extra control is nice in the snow when you don't have AWD.

Why do you think Nissan has limited the options for us 6 speed drivers? :(

probably because they assumed the majority of people (well, "big spenders") would prefer the "luxury" of an automatic tranny. same reason why lexus and other high-end makes don't offer manuals in their cars. it sucks, but i'm content with the S - i can always upgrade it to my liking
With fuel economy being the driving factor now, the CVT gets better mileage so more of that configuration will sell. Also they knew kids would need one hand on the wheel and the other on the cell phone :D
Christine- I believe you on the one hand on the wheel and one on the phone thing

That's just it I can upgrade the head unit to incorporate the I-pod connection and Sat radio but I can't upgrade to the key less start :(

Until a few years ago cruise control was only available on Automatics but that has all changed. So hang in there

Because young people use both hands on the phone zero on the wheel to TEXT. No bluetooth setup for that.

Totally :D texting and driving, and as we have seen by the poll here in NCL they got the audience wrong as to who would buy the car so yes the older crowd is on the phone

Look mom, no hands!

In Chicago they passed laws to fine people for talking on the phone or texting while driving

And how well is that working out in your area? I can tell you that here it would be a total joke of non enforced rubbish.

I have seen the cops here using the phone wile driving.
The cops in the city are pretty active in enforcing it. In the suburbs not quite as enforced.
