What are the benefits in participating in one of these events, what exactly happens to your vehicle ?
It's not an "event" per se. You volunteer your vehicle to have aftermarket components (in this case, Tanabe) test-fitted. This saves the manufacturer costs on purchasing a vehicle they likely won't have much use for afterward and the individual who volunteers their vehicle typically gets the test-fitted parts for free for their troubles.

Win-win for both parties involved.

thats what i was wondering, and thats all i wanted to hear. that i get (free stuff) for my time.
im ganna highly think about it since im only 30 miles away. thx for the notice.
It's not a rock-solid guarantee that they will provide you with any parts for free. I would recommend calling Tanabe ahead of time to iron out the details.

seems like if you're the first... they'll give it for free. Either way I think this would be neat for you cube owners out there...

Congrats man... usually they need two or have room for two. I've done this kind of thing before when I had my other car...

absolutely!

being 17 I'm so thankful for this opportunity, there was no way i was gonna be able to afford these kinda parts soon, let alone after having the car for a little after 2 months(estimating time till r&d)

i have an extremely wind-ey canyon run about 3 minutes from my house, i plan on doing a before and after run with plent of critique and pictures!
