You have seen these around or advertised and wanted to learn a little more. Well here is your opportunity.

I purchased these from the manufacturer directly on the 4th of September for $29.99 for the 7507 bulbs and $7.95 in shipping. Total: 37.19

They were shipped from the manufacturer to me on 10 September UPS Ground. 7 Days Later!

The box arrived at my door on 16 September. It was advertised UPS Ground (signature required) but the box was left, this may be UPS’s fault.

I think either they are a conscious recycler of old boxes or they get allot of RMA, I don’t know which.

Open the box and they appear adequately packed in the foam peanuts.

However after digging thru the peanuts this was in the box. The package was open and the bulbs loose but not out of the packaging.

Well lets check and make sure they work. A quick examination reveals the chrome coating is applied evenly and looks rich in amber color.

OK they work, so let see how they compare to stock bulbs.

You can see the stock bulb is considerably brighter. The stock bulb is 21 watts, the stealth bulb has no wattage markings and none on the package or website either.

Here is what the bulbs look like side by side, stock VS chrome.

In this picture you can see the stealth bulb on the right and stock on the left (your left). The stock bulb gives you the appearance of an egg yolk in there.

Here with both bulbs on you can see how dim the stealth is compared to stock on the left.

Below is a shot with both stealth bulbs installed.

A close up of the installation shows the bulb just disappears in there, or does it?

When the sun is shining brightly on the bulb it has a brown cast in the bucket, not so stealth now!

I found a pair of stealth/chrome bulbs (no name brand) over on Ebay for $4.00 plus shipping that was 27 Watts, this may be as bright as the stock 21 Watt. The Stealth bulb claims it is an heavy duty bulb and offers an lifetime warranty. They claim the cheap knockoffs can break and wear out prematurely. Now you have a review to decide if you should spend almost $40.00 for this mod.

I like the look and I am happy with it overall. Good Luck with yours and I hope this was useful.

thanks for the tip Christine. because of your post, i have decided that i didn't want to spend $40 for this mod. i went to ebay and spent $12 shipped on that no-name brand. we'll see how it works out. i'll post pictures in here for comparisons :p

fun fun ;D

Excellent to hear palalna.kawika

Glad this could help you, that was totally my intention. I am not trying to say one bit that anyone should buy THIS bulb, but to offer the opportunity to see them from an unbiased review.

Hey Christine thanks for the nice write up, pictures are always great, funny how yours were packaged/opened

I was impressed to see that you actually energized them with I'm guessing a battery charger or jumper cables.

I'm curious to see how the e-bay ones turn out.

ok here we go. i got the no-name brands. $4.99 for the pair. $7.00 shipped to hawaii from California, not China.

ordered late-night on the 19th (early morning 20th in CONUS), received via USPS on the 23rd.

came packaged well with absolutely no damage to box or even the paper backing for the bulbs.

Cycolite...gotta love it lol

before

installed on the right, compared to stock on the left.

done. this is a SUPER-DUPER easy install. took 5 minutes to install and take pictures. lol
i wore rubber gloves when handling the bulbs to be sure i didn't leave any oil or dirt on the glass from my fingertips. even though they don't stay on like headlights, they do get quite hot from blinking. i didn't want to take chances.

got the daily afternoon double-rainbow in the back for the overall look picture. hahaha
but you get a better idea here

the stock bulbs are a tad brighter than these. i expected it from the chrome coating. its no big deal. people will still know which direction you're turning.

the guys over at Stealth could easily be getting their bulbs from the same manufacturer as the guy i bought mine from. no offense to you Christine. you inspired me to try the ebays by stepping up. thanks again for the help :)

None taken, that was exactly the idea. I might order these for the back. Swap one on the front and compare side by side and see for myself. The true test will be the longevity test. I am certain I spent to much, but I wanted to get the best and see and share. Now we all get educated in the community. That is well worth it!

That would be my main concern, that they don't give up significant daylight visibility. It would be a serious safety hazard if the flashing doesn't readily attract other driver's attention. Does look good though :)!

Philips Silver Vision bulbs have a more translucent coating than the bulbs ChristineK posted. They flash just as bright as the factory bulbs. :)

Thanks -- that's great :)! I'll have to check the bulbs in my car, sounds like the Phillips might be a neat mod for me too :)!

PS. Oh phoo -- there doesn't appear to be a Silver Vision version to replace the 1157A :(! I guess that leaves the Sylvania Silverstar, but it has something of a blue cast :-\.

Don't know if this is useful to anybody, but it appears the MirrorVision brand is at least similar to the Silver Vision:

Well buy them and try them out and tell us what you think! Open competition is what we are made of!

Just want to say thanks very much to the OP and respondents to this thread :)! The "stealth" turn signal idea appealed strongly to me, however, I needed an 1157 bulb, rather than a 7507. This resulted in my taking a slightly different search path, but happily, it's worked out well :)! Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't also supply 7507 replacements, and so, I apologize for not being able to address that specific need :(!

However, since there's always the possibility that some of you may have "stealth" 1157 interest, here is a current eBay link for bulbs I'm very pleased with.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ambe...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

In direct comparison with standard amber 1157 bulbs, this JDM silver/chrome variety provides virtually identical brightness (IMO) and so, I just purchased a second pair to keep as backups :)!
