Lately my wife has been driving my Cube more and more due to work/travel arrangements. This is the same woman who called it the "Herman Munster Car" when she first saw one in person. The same woman who drives a huge Nissan Quest. The same woman whom I had to physically push into the Cube for a test drive. You get the picture.

Anyway, lately she's been showing it off to her friends and now saying things to me like: "Boy, the Cube sure is easy to park." "I really like not using a key anymore." and "Going on a lot of errands. Should I take the Cube instead?"

Finding an empty parking space in the driveway on the occasional morning is normal and no cause for alarm, right? :-\

Update: Nov. 4th

Well I know I've lost a few battles but now I think I may have lost the war:

1) She is driving it about 90% of the time now due to a change in work obligations with lots of travel to see clients.

2) She no longer asks to use it for other purposes.

3) Last weekend she took the Cube to see family while I came later in the van. I was in the front yard with the kids when she came outside headed to the parking lot. I asked where she was going and she replied, "To my car to get something"; till now she had always referenced it as "The Cube".

Re: Should I be worried?

 well I guess some wimps (LOL) do drive Cubes, either divorce her and drive off with YOUR Cube or grow some bigger ones man  and tell your woman who is the boss. This is one of many reasons I like staying single no one else gets to drive my Cube. 8)

like someone else said on here :
REMOVE THE BATTERY in the key now!

Update: Christmas time

Well, I made it official. I gave the Cube to the wife. She just loves it and nothing makes me more happy than seeing her happy. She continues to rack up the miles on her job and is all ready at 7k miles/5 months ownership. By comparison I typically accrue 8-9k miles a year but her travel expenses will make the Cube payment along with the gas savings by not driving our Quest van.

Feeling guilty, she tries to switch out cars on days she doesn't need to travel but I carry work gear and the PITA of switching it out between vehicles or, worse yet, forgetting to swap it led to some rather awkward work situations. :-[ In the end, it really was a no-brainer decision.

Signed,

Cubeless in Seattle (err, actually I'm in Texas but that sounds more dramatic. :D )

Yikes, that's awesome!

Any possibility of trading in the Quest on a new Cube for you?

This post has really been entertaining. You guys crack me up. I started noticing my wife secretly falling in love with my cube early on. She is very shy, and I think she is afraid to drive it alone because of all the attention it can be prone to draw. Maybe once the general public gets more used to seeing them around, she will be ready for her own cube. :-\
