i noticed yesterday that when i shut the rear door it kind of *thuds* but the top portion of the door vibrate/shakes a little. it seems as if all the contact points arent meeting up right and instead of a clean shut.... the door settles into place. the rear wing/spoiler seems to accentuate the shake.

has anyone else noticed this?

I had a rear rattle also.
I found that one of the metal rear seat belt clips was rattling in response to road vibrations against the door pillar plastic.
Took me a while realize what the rattle was.
There are retainers for the seat belts to keep them in check and using them stopped the rattle. :yes:

Have not noticed the original thread query about the door but then I don't have a spoiler.

Perhaps you should take a warranty check up at your friendly dealers.
Doesn't sound too good.It should not be doing that.
Mine shuts nicely with at Rolls Royce or fridge door type clunk/thump.
Is the top of the door grazing the spoiler as it shuts?

I'm wondering if someone hit your Cube with their car and drove off?

i went out and shut my door about 10 times and when i shut the door, it doesnt just stop. what happens is the top part of the door seems like it shutting against a sponge or rubber. so when the door slams, it kind of goes in and out in and out and then stops. its not a clean shut.

i was thinking that it might be due to the extra weight of the wing.. not too sure. i need to see some other cubes.

maybe im just being overly anal about the door.

I think it might have to do with the spoiler. I have the same problem too. My girlfriend keeps opening and closing because it feels like it doesn't shut properly. Now when I close it I shut it from the top of the door and it doesn't rattle.

youre the man rob! thats exactly what i meant. i am VERY bad at explaining things

ill definitely start closing it from the top if it minimizes the shaking effect. ill have to carry windex with me from all of the finger prints

I don't have the spoiler yet, but I do notice over rough road that the rear door does shake and sounds like metal on metal, not alot, just the initial bounce over a railroad track, or pothole, and it makes me cringe, I will investigate further and see if there is something easy to fix it before sending it to the service department and not having my cube for 2 days... ;-)
