I thought it would be helpful to start a thread on any problems that we've had with our cubes, focusing on problems that require dealer service to fix/repair/replace parts still under warranty. It would also be helpful to list any TSB's (service bulletins) that have been issued by Nissan.

So far - knock on wood - we haven't had any issues with our cube. But please share your experiences with the group.

A few weeks ago my husbands (purchased in May) Cube started squealling really loud. Took it to dealer, they said the brake drums had slipped and there was a large brake dust build up. They also advised they wouldn't be surprised to see a tech service bulletin come out.

They started squealling again and his tire pressure warning light has been on despite having normal pressure. Taking it back to the dealer tomorrow. I haven't had either of these problems with my Cube (purchased in Aug)

That's too bad, I hope it is an isolated incident. I experienced the same issue on my 07 Infiniti G Sedan and the dealer replaced the front brakes at no charge. Keep us posted.

Wow, you have two cubes? Very cool, we're considering a second one as well :)

P.S. It's interesting to finally see a reply to this post (orig posted 14 days ago). I figured people ignored it or just have trouble-free cubes! ;)

I got my cube on August 20th and have just over 3k on it. I noticed when the A/C is on it has a whine similar to an ATX cavitating or PS whine when it's low on fluid. Haven't taken it to a dealer yet because it's not consistant nor is it very loud, but I'm sure it may get worse as time goes by. Since I'm not one to take my car to a dealership for repair's it will have to become annoying or quit working before I do, but I just make take it in so that the issue will at least be on record for warranty purposes. If it does need repaired it will be my first dealership repair after owning scads of new cars over the years. Oh well, there's always a first...LOL - Dan

If you're talking about when you turn the AC on it gives this shriek, I've asked my salesman; he says that all nissan AC systems do that. Let me know if you find anything else out.

The noise you're referring to is quite common on many cars when the A/C clutch is initially engaged. What I’m talking about is more of a whirring noise anytime the A/C compressor is running (clutch fully engaged). Could be nothing as it may just be characteristic of the compressor. The cube being such a tiny car and the driver so close to the motor it may just be something that can’t be heard on a larger vehicle with the same compressor. - Dan

i may have jinxed myself starting this thread. i've noticed a very annoying rattle coming from the rear door when going slow over rough road surfaces. i plan to adjust the rubber stopper on the door-edge tomorrow to see if that helps. if not, then i need the dealer to fix it because the rattle will drive me crazy soon.

i also noticed a rattle coming from the rear door, it was driving me crazy, thought it was my cargo box so i took it out, rattle still there   then i sat in the back seat to see if something was loose, nope , then i looked at the seat belt, yup, the seat belt clip was banging on the side of the car, there is no more rattle in the back of my car ;D

i thought it was the seat belt too but nope. i sat in the back and it is clearly coming from the door. as my wife drove, i pushed against the inside of the rear door and the rattle stopped. so it's definitely a rear door rattle.

solved the rear door rattle today by adjusting the black rubber stopper, twisted it outward slightly to put extra pressure on the door when closed. worked like a charm.

Okay, so the dealer replaced both rear drums under warranty. The tire pressure light was legit, all tires were 2 lbs. low. Our cure for the back door rattle was turing the radio up ;)

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with our dealer service dept. They have an F rating with the BBB, so I was expecting the run-around. So far so good. My only complaint was having to watch Fox News in the waiting area.

Having two Cube's is a blast! We really get attention when they are parked together.

CUBE back at dealers. After fixing the wind noise with new wiper area inserts, now the left wiper does not work. They are removing everything again to fix. They may take all parts from a new CUBE to fix mine. This is getting old

This is how its supposed to work. Having the AC on when running the defrost removes moisture from the air before it blows in on your window. Its a good thing. Even if your temp is turned to full heat, it will go through the A/C coils first to condense out moisture before it goes through the heater core. There are temp sensors to keep the condensate from freezing when its too cold out. Many vehicles work this way.
