So I'm wondering if there will ever be a passenger arm rest available for the cube as a add on? I just think that after a while in the car the passenger will feel left out without one. I guess they can ride in the backseat if they really want to use one also. I just kind of wish it had a center console, but there's just not enough room i guess.

I'm pretty sure they'll come out with something...next year! I feel ya on the passenger armrest. We bought the Honda Element the first year out (in 03). It had the same issue. A year or so later they came up with the passenger armrest. Until that happened, DIYers bought a driver side armrest, flipped it over, drilled a hole thru the seat, an voila! I think there is enough room for a center console or a passenger arm rest, but is an armrest necessary? It has never been a concern for me, but I do like the arm rest for my drivers side. For me, it's not an issue, but I guess I can see how it bothers you guys.....I plan on staying in the drivers seat though!! LOL

You should be able to get one that is made for the Japanese model drivers side, since they drive from that side. :yes:

I just purchased a Cube and love it. But agree that they forgot the arm rest for the passenger. It would be nice if they figured out an add-on, since buying a new seat could be costly.

2009 Japanese Cube has a shared arm rest. Looks almost like a bench seat.

My wife and son both hate that there isn't a passenger side arm rest.

I rarely have mine down, so it really doesn't bug me that much that there isn't a passenger side one, but it would be nice to have an option to have one, just to keep my passengers happy!

hmmm, that is bad, I didn't notice that, though Ive been driving. On the flip side it bugged the hell outta me that my FiT didn't have a drivers arm rest, I think it was starting to affect my posture too. So I'm happy my cube has it

Looks like the armrest doubles as another storage compartment too. That would be great to have in our cubes.

On my long trip the arm rest actually made my arm more tired and sore. It is not wide enough or soft enough for me.

the japanese cube has room for that because they still use the column shifter and foot brake, so they still have a true bench seat.

I have the base Cube and need one for the drivers side. Looked at adding one but the Nissan parts guys told me the mechanism for the arm is inside the seat so will have to wait for someone to make a center storage/armrest unit

In a year or two, when Nissan smartens up, I intend to buy the passenger seat w. armrest, and install that sucker PDQ.

i think the one area nissan messed up with is the mini storage areas... i would love a coin drawer type thing, a center console/armrest for all the little bs that i tend to accumulate, and that little square thing below the push start.. wth fits in there? it wont even hold a garage [email protected]!#

add homelink and overhead sunglass bin to the list too.
