My Cube's paint code is K21.
It is metallic dark grey.
In Japan they call it K21 "Twilight Gray". Which is the name I like best describing the colour.
In Canada it is called K21 "Platinum".
I have seen it called variously on the forum as...
"Gun metal"
"Steel Gray"
Why so many different names for the same colour.

The Japanese have names like....for as they say "Body Colors".
Organic Olive,[#JAC]
Ash Blue,[#RAH]
Diamond Silver,[#KYO]
Luminous Red,[#AY4]
Pacific Blue,[#B51]
Super Black,[#KH3]
Bitter Chocolat,[#L50]
White Pearl,[#QX1]
Kraft Dan-boru,[#CAD] Looks like a yellowy beige.
and lastly
Twilight Gray,[#K21]

The paint code K21 can be found in the documents that come with the CUBE

I think K21 "Twilight Gray" is the best description for the metallic grey.

Cheers in passing in my Luverly Bubberly Twilight Gray CUBE.

My old Ford Focus was a nice shade of yellow (code B7). When I bought the first one in 2000 Ford called it "Zinc Yellow" - which I liked. When I bought my second Focus in 2005 in the exact same B7 color, it was called "Egg Yolk Yellow". Uggh! A few years later they changed to a rather ugly shade of taxi cab yellow that I didn't like at all. I don't know what that was called but I would never buy a car in that shade.

I assume the manufacturers have highly paid teams of marketing gurus sitting around all day thinking this stuff up.

Go to your local automotive paint supplier and ask for some of these colors and you will be floored by the prices. I went and was going to get a quart of Scarlet Red AY4. They asked if I wanted High, Medium or Low grade paint. I asked what is the price difference. We started at $99 a quart for Low, $140 a quart for Medium, and $335 a quart for High. I am hoping they had a camera so my expression can be on funniest home videos. I did not buy any at that 3M store or the PPG store I went to next as he was just a crazy.
