I'm going to be taking the Cube on it's first road trip today. We are going to drive up the 101 From Los Angeles to Port Angeles, WA. Then cross over to Victoria and Vancouver. Then head back on the 5. Will probably take 9 days to do the trip.

These are some of the places we'll stop at:

CA
Solvang
Big Sur
Monterey
Sonoma
Avenue of the Giants

OR
Gold Beach
Bandon by the Sea
Dunes City
Newport
McMinnville
Portland

WA
Mt. St Helena
Seattle
Olympic National Park

BC
Victoria
Vancover

I might have to take out some of the stop, I have to be back at work on 8/5.

I'm back from Canada. Crossing into Canada was a pain. The Canadian border patrol asked for my keys and made me turn off the car. They banged on all the panels and roof and went through all our bags. They thought it was strange we drove from Cali. Otherwise the trip was cool. I'm spending the night in Seattle then heading back. Here's some pics making our way through the Redwood Forest.

Sorry about Canadian Customs. I think they were curious about the 8) Cube...Maybee..
But did they find the under floor jack and tool storage compartment ?? ;)

Most of been because they never saw that model. I wasn't hiding anything, but I almost lost my cool, with all the questions they asked. Three agents surrounded the car, one checked under the hood, other banged on the car, and another went through all our luggage.

They didn't find the tool storage compartment. We didn't make it to Victoria, hopefully next time. We enjoyed Vancouver alot. Everyone is really friendly.

Here's one more picture from Seattle.

Everywhere we went people liked the cube. Only heard two people talking smack about the car.

The best investment I made was putting a clear bra on the cube before going on the trip. No chips on the paint.

I'm going to get the oil changed tomorrow, the cube has 3800 miles. The odometer says I'm getting 32.6 mpg, but I think I'm getting more.

On our way back I was doing 70 and I had 2 chp patrol cars slow down and pull right next to me on the highway, I guess they were checking it out.

I had it done by Transhine in Whittier. www.transhine.com

They quoted me these prices installed: https://www.xpel.com/products/paint...=1&year=2009&make=29&model=3244&submodel=6308

I went with the A-D kits and had them make custom pieces for the front, side, and rear skirts, and hood accent. They threw in covers for the fog lamps and headlamps. It was a bit expensive but worth the investment. I would've had the entire car wrapped if I had the extra money. You can't tell it's there until you are about maybe 5 feet away from the car.

I hadn't noticed it, but the rear doors have a piece of clear bra close to the wheels. So that's the type of finish you should expect.

In this picture you can see where the bra ends on the fender and a pillars. But you cant see it on the bumper since all of it is wrapped. I would've had the entire hood and fenders wrapped but they had already started working on the car when I thought about it.
