Nissan Goes into Battery Recycling Business

Well this is first aimed at the Nissan leaf, but I see it leading to many others in the Nissan lineup

anyone want a 50+ MPG electric cube?

I think in the near term many electric cars will flood the roads.

As some of you know I am also a Fit owner and love that little car too. I see many of you are too ;)

I see a race for my next new ride. "it is likely it would exceed all other hybrids"

Can you smell the cleaner air, or is that the smell of the battery recycling chemicals :p

The biggest hurdle for electric motors (re: cars) is life span. There is an interesting article about ZENN corp. in the Toronto Star. They are part owner in a company trying to produce something called an ultracapacitor. It would allow an electric vehicle to go upwards of 500k on a single charge, travel at almost highway speeds, etc. The big question is whether they will "break through" in time to make electric vehicles a truly practical commodity.

Unfortunately, Fox news (and Fox in general) has done an exemplary job of turning off viewers who have any interest whatsoever in non-partisan (spelt heavily slanted) reporting and politics (the good Lord bless his Rush Limbaughness). Perhaps there indeed maybe cleaner air out there somewhere, but I'd hardly count on Fox and its cohorts/confederates to assist in delivering it. Their strength is right wing hate mongering.

I recently read a review in a magazine of the Nissan Leaf where the reviewer stated that he hadn't tested the Leaf yet and that he only test drove a electrified Cube test mule. So technically, if only for testing the Leaf's components, an electric Cube exists!
