I don't have an ipod, I only have mp3 on a CD-R disc. I tried it, it didnt work. Inside the user manual, it says some disc won't work on the player, like CD-R. Then, what type of disc can I use?
You can try a CD+R. I haven't used the cd player in my Cube yet but I would bet that CDRW's (rewritable discs) do not work either. If I remember I will take some of my discs with me in the morning and let you know if they work. Every mp3 disc I created for my Alpine in my old truck was a CD-R.

I don't think it is the type of disc you are using, that shouldn't matter. I think you should check the format of the files you are putting on the disc. If you are using .mp3, maybe you could try .wma (windows media).

I checked mine and it works fine. They are mp3 files on CD-R discs. You can try what Hotcube said and also try making sure that you finalize the disc or session, some players require it.

Also keep in mind that if you are using iTunes, as so many people seem to, the files are not typical .mp3 format. Mac designed iTunes to convert all songs to a unique format. That's why an iPod can play music from anywhere, but not all mp3 players can play music from the iTunes store.

Short Story: I concur with making the CD from Windws media player.
