I got a cube last weekend and its a manual trans. Its the only way to go! My last 5 cars are manuals. The cvt's are just too weird IMHO. I'm thinking about extending the shifter 5 inches so I can complete the whole breadtruck experience.

I test drove a manual and really liked it! I will definitely getting one; having driven a manual for so long, it would just be too weird to get the CVT ;oP

MasGreen: Wow, that's the first time I've ever read about someone wanting to -extend- their shifter, lol! (No double entendre intended.)

I'm going to be getting a Manual cube in the next few months and had the same thought about extending the shifter! I think it would be pretty sweet.

Manual FTW. Mom's '10 Versa has a CVT... Just feels weird to me!

Now we just have to find a way to go custom on the shift knobs.

I Don't know yet what I want... I've driven Manual for a few years. I sort of just want a relax drive where I don't have to worry about switching gears in traffic.... I can just press the gas and go.
Only problem is... When I am not drinking something or playing with the stereo, WHAT WILL I DO WITH MY HANDS? I might just have to stick to a manual tranny... I sort of don't trust the new Automatic transmission yet cuz it is fairly new.
BUMP FOR STICK SHIFT! ;)

Geez, I don't know about anyone else, but if it isn't a manual, it just doesn't feel right after awhile :(! Sure, there are advantages to automatic, and if I was stuck in bumper-to-bumper every day, I would want one, but for anything like normal driving, even in town, I prefer a manual.

the manual 6 speed is the only way to go for the nissan cube.

anyone who has done any research on nissans cvt knows it is not a reliable system. The nissan rogue might as well come with 2 trannys given that they generally only last 70k!

the lack of other CVT transmission cars on the market, esp high end, just shows that there is no consumer confidence in this technology.

the only reason CVT exists is that its cheap to make, cheap to service and guarantees that the customer will return to the dealership to service it as there are so few qualified CVT technicians.

manual has been around forever, and since it is a 6 speed, is bomb on gas.

I also drive in the snow a lot, and i dont think id trust cvt to be able to adapt nearly as quickly as manual enables me to, given that no matter what one can always hop up or down a gear and know that it will do it instantly.

The CVT had me sold when I borrowed my parents 07 Sentra with a CVT. It had me hooked. I hate the congestion of traffic so I opted for an auto this time. I love sticks but the gas milage is the same with my CVT.

I just bought a 2010 S model Moss Green Cube.

I bought my 10' Cube S 6spd in December, and I really like it. I drive in traffic Mon thru Thurs, for the most part, and for those of u SoCal people who know the 605 fwy North between the 105 to the 10 fwy it sucks for traffic, but the good thing about the cube is the clutch is lite so it doesn't take alot of effort to use, and the shifting gives me something to do while in traffic. Plus the extra power helps out also....

Cheers-

Just a shot in the dark....

Has anyone gotten a manual transmission Cube yet? Most everyone I've read posts for on this site owns a CVT. Where's the Manual Transmission love???
I have a 2009 6 speed manual, and I put a 2 inch extender on it. Now, I want to put an old school bent H&M handle type shifter on there. I really really want to find a good cold air intake and put dual exhaust on it. Hopefully I can put something faster under the hood.... it’s so light, 1/4 mile would be sick.
