Just curious what other people are getting for their average fuel consumption? Does anyone know what the difference between current fuel consumption vs average means on our trip computer? The manual isn't very clear.

Hi Mel,

Current fuel consumption is what the car is doing right this instant.

Average fuel consumption takes the average speed and an average of the fuel consumption and does a statistical calculation every 30 seconds. (Like a rolling average)

Maybe someone else can comment on the actual math used? :D

Thanks I was looking for other canadians readings. It is just easier to read other l/km readings :)

Also, thanks for the answer about the current vs average. There was something wrong with my readings that is why I asked. The current stayed at the same number. I just figured out how to reset them and now it all seems to be fine. On the way home from work my average reading was 6.9L/100km.

marilynfan 6.9 is good  my reading is 7.6. go to "eco cube" section, there is a conversion chart there but it is for imperial gallon, different than u.s. gallon...you can google for comparison chart , litres per 100km. to u.s. gallon.

How are you all driving?

My wife and I our cube get 8.6 avg/100km....60% city, 40% hwy. We've gone down to the states, cruising at about 120-140km/h, and we get about the same mileage; I've always been quite unhappy about our gas mileage for the cube.....

Our 91 and 93 integras are driven harder, sportier; and they get about the same mileage.....

Hana,

For you that is normal; the weather leads to that. bad weather compromises fuel mileage due to you turning on the defrost/AC for the windows more, and if you're running snow tires that will affect it as well.

You see for me, the past tank I was avging 9.9-10.1....

I'm really bummed!

Hana, the same thing happened to me. I have been steady at around 7.4 or so. Now all of a sudden it is 8.2-8.4. Must be a weather thing. I have decided against snow tires for now.
