I Missed the Attention!

One of the neat things about having the 1st gen Scion xB was that people would stop and gawk, ask questions and such. We'll it's been a good year since anything like that has happened.

HOWEVER,

An older lady in an xB motioned for me to pull over, so she could check out my Cube. That was very awesome. I haven't even owned my Cube for 24 hours!

It was very nice to see an older lady be so into these boxy cars... especially one that would hand motion for me to pull over so she could check it out, lol. It's not as weird as it may seem though, I did wave at her when I passed originally. I figured Cube owners can wave at xB owners, right? LOL

Anyhow, I just thought I'd share. :D

Oh man! i LOVE the attention my cube gets. I walked out of a restaurant with my boyfriend the other night, and there was this older couple taking a picture with it, then wanted a picture with me...it was so weird...but they wanted to show there daughter.

I also work at a CD shop in the evenings, and a lady came in from the parking lot yelling to her friends to come look at the cube because she hadn't seen one yet. it was hilarious.
Jacqueline, that's awesome! I want a stranger to take pictures of my Cube, too. LOL
yeah I used to get attention in my FiT too, even recently.

but, what I find amusing now is standing outside of 7-11s and watching people like, drive up next to my car and get out and start looking at it and such. he he he, it's neet.
When I picked up my cube at the dealer there was a guy looking at the Krom but he liked my red SL better so he asked if he could video tape it for his wife. I said sure and he did a thorough job, inside and out.
it's kinda fun to have your 15 mins of fame! i just love seeing their faces of "Wow! What is that?" I'd similar experiences when I got my Element and more recently when I got my Triumph---both vehicles very non-standard, non-status quo.

Enjoy your cube---you'll get smiles for many months to come!
I drove past a group of people eating outside at a restaurant today, and like clockwork, they all stopped eating and watched as I went by, I could see that "wow, what is it look" as well. It's nice having a different vehicle that everyone notices! ;)

I wonder how long it will be before the Cube is common?
I just posted about this same thing in the regional section. I live in Delaware and I am wondering if I am the only one in my county with a cube. I bought mine today and on the way home from the dealership I stopped to eat and had people gathering and pointing, peeking in the windows, etc.

I went to the grocery a few minutes ago and had the same experience. I didn't even think about the attention when I bought the car, but I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. Reminds me of when I bought my PT cruiser a few years back.

The only thing that worries me is all the people peeking in my car windows... it's weird. I feel like i have to like hide my ipod and stuff, I don't want someone taking my stuff! haha
I've always owned older (and pretty generic) cars, so I'm not really used to all the attention my cube gets, but it's fun! Got my first 'thumbs up' the other day- the guy seemed genuinely excited to see one, so he must have been familiar with the car.

The best so far was in the parking lot at the movie theater the other night. As we were walking in, past the shopping center security guard, he asked us, "Did you all just get out of that Nissan Cube?! I'm gonna have to go check that out!"

Nice to know the guard was keeping watch on our new car!
On the way home from picking my cube up a couple of weeks ago I stopped for dinner. When I came out of the restaurant there was a dad and his 2 sons standing next to the car all with their cell phones pointed at it ready to take pictures. As I got closer to the car and they realized it was mine they all stuck their phones up to their ears as if they were all making a call.

At the beach this weekend while running into WaWa for a soda the girl behind me said "That is the ugliest car I've ever seen!" and her boyfriend said "I'd drive one of those in a heart beat!" which didn't make her too happy... but it made me laugh. LOL

I was completely shocked when people would have the nerve to tell me that my Scion xB was ugly. Who tells a new car owner that?

Apparently everyone that I know! No one seems to like my Cube. :( I even had a co-worker come over and ask my why everyone was harrassing me about my new car... apparently they've been talking when I'm not around and he overheard. LOL

Niiice. :(
Cube was designed for people who are young spirited and are not
afraid to be different and unique... Cube has been part of the Japanese
scene for over 10 years, so people in Japan are so use to seeing the Cube.

I wish I can get thumbs up here in Japan as well but the Cube is now
part of Japan's car culture, and people tend to keep their feelings to themselves.

When I see another Cube I would wave or high beam them.... no reaction in return.

I miss the car culture in the States... maybe I have to check out the hangout places
in Yokohama for car fanatics and see the more underground car culture ;)

Haters. Tell 'em not to hate. Appreciate!
I've had all sorts of folks give me the thumbs up for the cube. Even had a guy in s 08 STI tail mine for awhile. People just gawk at the cube, but in a good way. It's fun to park it in a public place and watch people's responses.

I always like to park infront of the store I work in at night. That way I can watch the people that peek at it walking by
