8) I purchased the kickplates the other day and had a chance to install them tonight, first impressions are they are great quality pieces, are they worth the $200 I paid for them? I think so! I have been a professional Car audio and electronics installer for 15 years so the install was fairly easy and the directions they included were OK as well. Sorry I don't have any pictures up yet but I am working on it, I will try and put some up tomorrow to show you the final results. as far as wiring you just plug the already prepared wire into an open spot on the back of the fuse box, tap into 2 wires for the door switch ground, plug the plates in and peel and stick them down, obviously there are more steps to it but it was pain free and definitely worth the short amount of time it took to do the install, next up is my vent visors and impact sensor for my alarm, if you have any questions on anything electrical let me know, I will do my best to help out and if I can't I will search around to get you an answer.

I am waiting for the after market kit that will light up the back sills as well. Nice to know the wiring part is easy. I have the impact sensor on mine and it was also an easy add on item. I am willing to bet all the parts are easy add on from base to SL with preferred.

Yes post up the pics so we can see the fine job you did

This is definitely an upgrade I need to have. You mentioned that you are an electronics installer. Do you think someone that knows just basic wiring skills would have success at the install or should I let the dealer do it?

It really is not that difficult if you take your time and follow the directions, the only stumpers for me were the lack of explanation of the wire insertion into the BACKSIDE of the fuse panel, and also the fact that the wires run over the steel lip along the floor boards and not through a grommet or even a notch, If you decide to do the install let me know and I can make sure I am available to help you through it, If you follow the instructions and take your time and have a basic understanding of vehicle electronics like you have shown you have then you should be fine,

It is such a cool upgrade and to be honest I am not sure if they will sell an aftermarket kit that has the quality this one has, and also the rear kick plates are very small so I am doubtful they will release a version where both light up, front and back, but you never know in the crazy world of aftermarket parts, I really like the fact that the kick plates illuminate the entry into my cube like they do, just adds a touch of style yet to be seen,
Let me know if you need anything, Rick
