i've been waiting for the cube to come over for 2+ years now. was sooo disappointed when the versa came over before the cube.

waited for a couple more months after the "new" version came out- wasn't really happy with the design changes- ie rounder

then cash for clunkers came and it was hard to deal - spent that time deciding between the s cvt with white- love the light interior but would drive me crazy trying to keep clean vs basic 6 speed- like the seat material better but has dark interior ???

then finally got a white base 6 speed with 13 miles over the labor day weekend for a nice price! :D

new auto insurance co was not opened over the holiday, so i had to wait a couple of days until i could pick it up.

its been a week, i'm still getting used to the size. (coming from a older corolla-longer but felt smaller) it feels sooo huge inside, visibility is almost too much in the front but still getting used to the rear visibility- not used to seeing rear head rests. friends laughing as i manuvered it like a giant suv while parallel parking- kept telling me i had a ton of space but i couldn't believe it. 6 speed is great, i'm babying it for now.

i've done a couple of oops- side scraped rear hub while parallel parking- i thought i was at least a foot from the curb. now i use the right side mirror until i get better. then somehow downshifted to first instead of third.

question: looking at the rear trunk, wondered why the rear seats can't flop backward to create a continuous level space vs flopping forward? is it possible to mod the rear seats to flop backward???

am i overbabying the 6 speed during breakin? i'm shifting into fourth gear when going above 30-35 mph. fifth gear over 45, sixth over 55?

thanks.

yaaaayy tofumaker!! i'm so excited for you 8) i'm glad you opted for the 6-speed. when driving my boyfriend's 6-speed STI, i'll shift into 6th at 45mph and it's fine; not sure how the gearing works with the cube (since i only drove one at the dealer for a few minutes and my order still hasn't come in), but i imagine you'll be fine if you hover around 2000 rpm while cruising.

2010 Cube

Hi,

I just put a deposit on a base model white 6 speed cube, (BC, Canada) which is on order and should be here in the next few weeks. I now have a few weeks to sell my Nissan Versa I was wondering what others have paid?

Currently, I'm looking at full sticker price of $16,998 + $1,325 Freight + $300 for colour = $18,723.00 (+ GST 5% + PST 6%). I don't know what type of discount I should expect if any, when I go to pay when it comes in? Any direction/assistance, would be great. Thank you, Debby

Good for you! I finally got one too. Looking over this forum, I see so many that waited a long time for the Cube to arrive.....posts made last year. I didn't learn about the Cube till a couple of weeks ago. For a long time.....well, actually for a few years I've been going back and forth between the Mini and the Bug. I wanted a quirky car...something fun....but something kept holding me back......

A couple of Saturdays ago I was listening to a car expert on a talk show. He was going on and on about the Kia Soul. I looked it up and thought it was cute. My son was visiting and he too was looking at cars on the net. He clicked on the Nissan site, I was sitting next to him at the computer and There IT WAS! The quirkiest of the quirks! I did a double take and knew the Cube was for me. But.....had to do some research first. I don't like purchasing anything their first year on the market so was pleasantly surprised to learn....Here at this forum.....that it's been in Japan for 10+ years. Hooah!

This past Friday evening, my husband and I ran some errands, swung by a Nissan Dealer on the way home to check out this 'Cube'. As we walked around the lot I spotted one, approached it with I know a goofy look on my face and I started laughing. When the salesman got me inside of it....I continued to laugh. I know the nice young salesman thought I was off my rocker but I just kept laughing. Every time he showed me a feature, I laughed, he caved and couldn't help but to laugh too....I busted up when I found out that I was sitting in one with the 'preferred package' and yet the price was so great!.......Hooah!

Cubby arrived yesterday.....my name for the little guy.....and when the salesman pulled it into my driveway I started laughing again. Took it out last night after rush hour to get the feel of it and it was so simple to get used to.....it's perfect for me.

My husband first thought I was nuts but Cubby is growing on him.......but for now he'll ride in it.....doesn't want anyone see him drive it....ha! I'll have to give him a chill pill. The comments so far have been.....

Looks like a Clown's car
Looks like a milk carton on wheels
Looks like a gangster's car from the 20s
Looks like a toaster
And my favorite because it's the way I feel..
Looks like a London Cab....read another member here state the same

While sitting in it, looking around at the details, etc., my husband said, "Whoever designed this car, must have been stoned. What's the point of this rippled ceiling? It's weird but I'll admit, it works somehow."

There have been other comments but can't remember them at this moment. I just know that I'm going to enjoy this car so much and I know it will be a popular one.....we'll see them all over the place soon. I'll be happy when I do see many on the road because I'll know that those other owners are fun people....they like to laugh....and they know life is short so Enjoy IT! My Cube/Cubby and I are going to have lots of adventures.....can't wait!

Congrats on getting your cube, I hope you enjoy driving it as much as I do. I think it's the most fun I've had behind the wheel in a very long time, always makes me smile.

The other day when I stepped to the back to open it up a guy laughed and said " Your car looks like a micro-hearse" ...... That too brought a smile to my face. - Dan

Hey Dan.....
YES! I too have heard the comparison to a hearse.....I got the white one......wanted the black one because it most looks like the London Cabs but I know me and knew I would have regretted it......the darker colors look dirty much quicker. So....I have the Milk Carton/Clown car......my husband said, 'put a red cross on it and it will look like an ambulance....from the 30s and 40s.

That's funny, I originally wanted a white one but couldn't find any cube "S" with a 6 speed anywhere in the southeast. Then I came accross this black one in Daytona beach......so I bought it...LOL

I have absolutely no regrets, although I'll be the first to admit it's a full time job keeping it nice and shiny. - Dan

Oh yes! That's right....the Ghostbusters car.....perfect. I have ole Cubby in the garage for the evening....his second day home......are we just silly writing about a silly car this way?......what the heck ......anyway, I backed him in for the night and said, 'husband of mine, come look at Cubby in this position.' He obliged and came out for a look. This time another thought came to his mind of what ole Cub reminds him of and in a low tone said.....Now it looks like Fred Flintstone's car!
Ha! He's right! It Does! It really does. However.....with the doors open, he still looks like a clown's car. When I see it in the other colors I don't see either.
You know what? It's so much fun to play and I miss that part of my childhood.....Cubby has brought out the child in me......he's a great big toy. And! I'm having a ball!
