How is your paint holding up?

A friend of mine has a Kia Soul, and travels about 125 miles a day (round trip) from home to work. He has been encountering a lot of road construction lately and got his first rock chip in the front of his car. :(

I used to travel about 90 miles a day for about 8 years and had a 2001 New Beetle, and I had plenty of rock chips from that trip.

Does anyone here travel that much with their Cube, and if so, how is the paint on the front end doing with any road hazards hitting it?

Being that Sunday the car is officially 2 months old (released in the US) most US drivers wont have enough history, our friends across the pond however :D

Christine ;)
I've already gotten one rock chip on the front of the hood. It was fixed up with some Nissan Super Black touch up paint. I will be getting a clear bra for the front of the hood soon.

One of my prior Nissans was a 1993 pickup, it too had a verticle part of the hood on the front and was very susceptible to rock chips. I didn't know about the clear bra back then; as a result, I just got a conformal wind deflector for the hood which worked out great.
Mine is 9 days old and I found a nick in my door, today! How the freaking hell in 9 days???????

Christine ;)
I had a Kia Spectra5 before and the paint chips bad...I have had my cube less than 2 weeks and have 1300 miles already...I drive 40,000 to 45,000 miles a year so I will keep you posted
someone already hit my back bumper! i was so upset. anyway it left a big paint chip in the back. Lucky for my my dealer is awesome and he ordered up some touchup paint right away and once it comes in he is going to give me a bottle, and keep a bottle just incase.

I also found a scratch on my hood yesterday blah.
I bought my cube three weeks ago, but due to a huge road trip from Delaware to Texas and back I now have over 5,000 miles on it.

After the trip I did a total scrub-down and damage assessment. I have two super small windshield chips because of a maniac truck that passed me on the shoulder of I-10 doing 80, three small paint chips on the front bumper cover and one small paint chip on the edge of the hood. Not bad for such a long highway trip. All of the chips will be easily repaired with touch-up paint.
anyone have 1st hand experience with those clear bras? what happens if you take em off? will you see the difference? fade vs no fade?
I purchased my first and last black car. Everything shows. I have a great fitting bra on my blackk Cube.

I noticed during my weekend wash and wax two small chips. One on the front of the hood and one down by the fog light area. Used Nissan Touch up but with Pearl White you get just white as metallics dont match well. ALso notice some kind of blemish on the grill that wont come off. Trying to get the dealer to replace it.
I just bought my Cube last Saturday. As the dealer was handing me the keys I saw spots on the hood and left front quarter panel that were marks from bird poop. He said, no problem, they'd take care of it.

I took it back on Monday. Just heard from them tonight. There are spots on the roof too and they want to paint the roof, hood, and quarter panel.

The GM called me and said the paint will be better than factory.

Any thoughts?
Those birds must be on acid man.....If the stain didn't get through the clearcoat you could save it with over the counter stuff.
I think they left the poop on there for several days, baking in the hot So Cal sun. Makes me wonder though about the quality of the paint.

Wow, I can't get my dealership to do anything like that! You are lucky!

I wouldn't paint it, though. Just makes it that much harder to trade in.
Got mine back today. Gotta say this dealership is amazing. Tustin Nissan, Tustin, CA. I have NEVER been treated better or given better attention by a dealer. Not only did the GM take care of me, the owner personally went over the car with me today.

There is no way to tell that the paint has been touched up on the roof and bumper. Had the paint been done before I bought it, it would have never crossed my mind that it had been painted.

There is nothing about this experience that could have made it better...the salesman, GM, and owner all treated me perfectly.

If you live in So Cal, this is the place to get a Nissan. Tell the GM, John Sumner, that Gerald sent you.
I hvae three small chips in the wind shield and four or five chips on t he hood. I now have a bra on my black SL and touched up the paint. THe problem is with a black cars; swirls and water spots
