Got pulled over yesterday!

Was headed home from work like always and saw a city cop looking to get into traffic. I proceed to enter the left turn lane and notice the officer behind me but no worried I am good.
I turn left and in a few hundred feet the light come on.

I pulled into a church parking lot and had my license ready and my insurance card (no registration yet as the cube is 20 days old)

Officer asks for my license and asks me what kind of car this is?

"Cube" I replied!
Officer: No who makes it?
Me: Nissan!
Officer looks at my insurance card and proceeds back to his squad car, a few minutes later comes back to my window, hands me my license and says "have a nice day"

He never said why he pulled me over, but I am to think it was because I de-badged and he had no earthly idea what the vehicle was.

"I am in pursuit of a white box on the south 405" :D

If Christine even remotely resembles her pic, there was a reason why. :p A new car was a "convenient" excuse. :D

Kinda do actually ;) THANKS!!!

Yeah. I'm sure she woulda preferred to get her ego stroked some other way than to get pulled over. If the LEO used that as his excuse to check her out, there's a bigger problem here. I'd be friggin pissed if she was my wife. It's no fun to be followed cos you fit a profile. Yeah. Let's go there. Hey Christine: was it fun for you to get pulled over?

More than likely the officer thought it was a grey market car, like someone imported an old Skyline that doessn't meet DOT standards. Once he saw that it was legal in the system, he let her go and will not pull over any more Cubes.

Or maybe the driver looked hot!!!
You guys are funny :D

I was not angry or happy about the situation and the officer was decent about it. He was not a jerk or anything.
I kinda thought the same thing about the vehicle being something he had never seen before and maybe not a legal vehicle. He ran my drivers license, I saw him radio it in thru the mirror. Don't know what he said, cant read lips. It would have been kind of him to tell me why he pulled me over though.

Soooo if you get pulled over lets hear about it :(

Christine ;)
I'm a 44 year old male, and I was pulled over within a week of getting my Cube. Sadly the officer in question was decidedly un-hot, and un-female. Just wanted to know what the hell I was driving.
I've been involved with kit cars for over 20 years. Kit cars get pulled over A LOT, often the police just want to ask questions about the car.
if i get pulled over for somthing stupid like that then i'm goin off on the cop. every time i get in my car and drive, i'm late. so if a cop makes me even more late for no reason, he's getting a mouthful. lol

Here in Ohio I-75 and I-70 cross right near where I live and there are a LOT of drugs pulled off the road here. When the State Troopers pull someone over they ask if they have anything in the car and if they mind them searching the car. It's amazing the number of people who agree to it.

The second thing out of your mouth when being pulled over, right after "good day officer" is "May I ask why I was pulled over?". And never accept a ticket AND a lecture. If you want to let me slide I'll take a little tongue lashing but if I'm getting a ticket you save the speeches because that is an assumption of guilt and that is NOT the cop's job. That's the judge's job.

Would you please post a picture of the back of your Cube? My wife and I de-badged our Honda Element (and had the body shop fill and paint the holes). Since we also have a white cube, I'm curious how it would look without the Nissan emblem. Also, how did go about de-badging?
I am not going to speculate too much on why he may have pulled you over. It doesn't take much to get probable cause. However, when you pull a subject over you call into dispatch the make, model, color, tag, location of stop and number of occupants. If you do not have that information on the back of your vehicle it needs to be obtained. It is possible an APB was issued for a Scion / Element etc. matching the color. If the officer has no idea what your box is he may pull you over to check. It is too bad a lot of you have less than kind words for LEO's . I suggest either you become one and speak from their shoes or ponder what the country would be like without them. 99.0% of LEO's don't bother with silly issues unless they suspect there might be more to the story.

...or look for something to justify probable cause, i.e., profiling. we can all ask, "what if?" but the fact is, the LEO didn't give a reason for the stop. Last i checked, we needed to be informed of the stop?

Please...sorry to burst your bubble, but unless you've been followed around because you fit (or didn't fit) a profile, you can guess all day long until the cows come home, but 1% is too friggin much. I can hear it now, "Well, if you didn't do anything wrong, then you don't have to worry." To that, I would say you don't get the point.
I get the point. I also know that trying to make mine to folks who feel Jilted by law enforcement is a wasted effort. However, I beg to ask white chick in a new car..profiling? hmm. It is very possible he had to respond to another call and handed back her info and split. Like I said in a previous post. You should not judge unless you have walked in their shoes and understand the intricate details of police work. Know one wants to see them until they need them. ;)
Well I can tell you I broke no laws, The officer was behind me for only a few yeards before I turned left and then a few hundred feet before the lights came on.

He made no attempt to speed off after I pulled away. You can speculate all day if you wish.

And I know all about walking the path others don't TRUST me, I am the 3% or so. No-one gives a flip and I get it!

I have worked closer with LEO's than most of you ever wish too.

Its Friday
Much to do about nothing for those of you pulled over by a police officer for a check or whatever. I am sure he wanted to know what it was or it could have been a number of things. I just smile and say thx; these people protect us.
