woo hoo!! :) ;)

got my rims! the rims ive been wanting since i sold my original set back in 1997 took me 12 years to track them down...17's would have been ideal.. but 16 is all righty with me!

now.... what size tires do i get? the oems are 205 55.. and i believe they are 16x6.5.. my 16s are 16x7 with a 45 offset.. i could save cash and transfer.. however, will the fit be okay? i dont want to go too low pro b/c i want to protect my rims and this is a daily driver.

input is much appreciated :)

lmk what you think too

**correction on my part.. i dont know why i thought stock was 205 55..

thanks for the tool boxcar. it really help visualize where the rim sits.

do you guys think that 205 55 on a 16x7 will look too high and or bulgy?

They might bulge out a tiny bit. If you're kinda looking for a tiny amount of stretch, then 195/55-16 would be the way to go.

haha... i dont know if that makes sense... i just want the tire to go straight up for the most part.

The 215 tires will bulge out a tad bit. Not from the tread area, but from the sidewalls. If you don't want that, then the 195/55-16 would be your best bet as far as the tire being flush with the wheel & keeping the speedometer closes to accurate. If not, then the 205/55-16 tire would be your third choice, but that's a pretty tall tire.

a private company tried busting us here in hawaii doing almost the same thing a couple years ago. it was called "VanCams" and they'd sit on the shoulder of the freeway, in the back of a van snapping pictures of anyone going over the speed limit. even when the ENTIRE flow of traffic was over the speed limit.

TONS of people were getting tickets in the mail with no one showing up in court to accuse them. so the public fought back. some people did it the legal way, some people did it the not-so-legal way lol i remember hearing about beverages getting thrown at them, people pulling over in front of the van and sneaking around to spray-paint the back window, even slashing tires.

the VanCam company eventually asked the state to provide police protection for them while on the freeway, the cops refused. VanCam went away shortly after that.
