Does anyone happen to know what the mounting depth of the factory sub is?

I know its an 8in SUB but thats it. Being an 8in the depth will be pretty shallow and the magnet not to big. I am going on experience only. Most factory speakers are pretty weak.

I have seen JVC go so far as to glue an extra donut magnet to the back of a speakers back plate to increase pull on the coil, I am not sure the desired effect of doing this as the power rating would be limited to the wire and coil not magnet size. Maybe they were limiting coil travel. But that cheap trick added 3/4 of an inch of mounting depth.

Those are supposedly Rockford but I imagine bottom bargain basement in quality. If that is the case I am surprised Rockford stooped so low. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me. I have the Rockford and if it is good, good to know!
Well, I got it measured....the factory enclosure accommodates a mounting depth of approximately 3.5". Turns out I'll have to add a little spacer to install my new subwoofer.

The factory Rockford Fosgate subwoofer produces 120W max @ .6 ohm according another stereo thread.

Can't wait til I get my Cube and install my new gear. :)
I am getting another 8" subwoofer to replace the factory Rockford Fosgate speaker. I'd be pretty hard-pressed to find an amplifier that would be able to power the factory subwoofer properly, not to mention, I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality when I borrowed a friend's Cube for the weekend.

I'd like to achieve a cleaner sound, less muddy/boomy sound. Plus, it should compliment my new speakers quite well. :)
