So i purchased a set of Chrome handles for my cube but when they get here, they were not the right size! The website said that they fit a 09 cube, and well..... they didnt. I sent an email to the seller requesting my money back or the right handles, but seeing as they are in china, I did'nt think i will be getting anything. I wounder if eBay will help me because the seller falsely sold me an item.

Maybe they fit the other generation cubes overseas?
Yeah maybe. But the site said nothing about that.
file a dispute with paypal. you'll be able to get your money back since the product didn't work as stated in the auction.

I just hate this forums as this is not the first post that bash anything that's originated from Asian countries e.g. HK, China ...... You mentioned that you have sent an email and also have assumed you WILL NOT get any reply from the buyer since they are from HK, China. How prejudice is it? Look around your house and you will find majority of the stuff are made in China or imported from other Asian countries....
Just a quick question, I assume you are living in US, if you are selling something that fits your 09 Cube (US spec) in eBay, what will you do in the description??? Are you going to say it fits 09 Cube?? You may not even know there are any differences in the spec for the same car in other markets. It's just common sense to ask the seller to confirm any doubts that you may have when buying something which is not generic (like a flag, a coffee mug ......)

Yes, the seller may do better in the description in this case. But this kind of thing can happen to any seller in any race from any country. Your comment quote "...but seeing they are in China...." end quote is just NOT fair ...

That's it, my last post here. Moderator/Administrator, please unregister me from this forum and erase all my posts as soon as you could.

I do regret the above however I think alot of culmenation has led to comments of that nature from business outside the borders of any country as the Govt. of that country or company is powerless to protect the consumer in its homeland.

As for the bashing of one race, country, or subcultrue I think the United States in the forum has taken the most heat from all parties, and the highest level of critisism from its own residents. So much so the Admin asked this forum to tone it down.

This is a universal situation that could be said by any peoples of any land if you look for it and choose to only see raceism and not consider other possible factors leading to a particular comment.

Just my $0.02

Sorry to all, and I hope Aaroncube can find resolution to his situation.
 it's a simple and unfortunate fact that a lot of counterfeit goods come from HK and china, so you should be cautious buying products from those countries. there are definitely legit sellers there, to be sure, but that doesn't mean that many others don't sell fakes.

the fact of the matter is, aaroncube was sold a product that was stated to fit on his car...and yet, it doesn't fit. the seller is always responsible for making clear descriptions of his/her items; if the covers were stated to work with 09 cubes (assuming all 09 cubes) when they only work on JDM cubes, it's the seller's fault for not making it clear.

also, from personal experience, disputing with paypal is simply the best way to go regardless of where the seller is from.

please don't take offense. we meant no harm by what we said.

Yamamoto, we would be sorry to see you go. Please stay.
Sorry guys. Had a really bad day and am a bit emotional and sensitive this morning

Sometimes we have to consider the language barrier as a factor as well. The English level may be limited for sellers in non-English speaking countries. As a result, the description may not be as accurate as it should be or it will be as simple as they can put it. When I'm shopping in eBay, I always ask the seller at least one question (even I don't have to) to get a feel of how the seller is doing business. It may not be scientific but I will not do business with anyone that has not returning my question in reasonable time (usually 48-72 hours due to time differences). So far I have only one bad experience for the past 8+ years.

Sorry again if I have hijacked this thread.

On a side note, I'm expecting the leather seat covers (front only) this week from Spencer (Bean Garage) and will post pictures as soon as I have them installed.

Cheers

glad to see you're not leaving :) i know all about the language barrier with regard to ebay auctions, so i too always ask sellers questions before purchasing, and that usually clears up any worries i might have. but at the same time, sellers should be very diligent about including all important info in their auctions, just to cover their backs.

yeah...carry on! :D

I agree. If I do this & get no response or they are very mad right away, then I do not buy from them.

However, as a seller, I would recommend that people ask normal questions to separate themselves from the random eBay crazy people! Once I had a potential buyer ask me why I "rigged" the auction (he did not understand the reserve price concept). I tried explaining it, but that made him even more upset. He started spamming me with foul language so I had to block him. Ugh...
Glad this could be righted, 8)

Lets hope Aaroncube finds the same Zen

this is what i was gonna say. i filed a dispute through paypal for a non-delivery and got my money back. they pulled it right outta his bank account! lol

i don't remember exactly what the rules say, but buyer protection only covers you if the seller has a certain level of good feedback. (may be 98 or 98.5% and above) if its lower then i don't think paypal will help you. though, you shouldn't buy from any bulk seller with less than that anyhow.

the other requirement is if the item shipped to you is significantly different than that of the description. and since the damn things don't fit, then you're covered in that area.

one of the things i do when i'm buying inexpensive, mass-produced/sold products on ebay, i read FAR back into the sellers feedback and see what people have to say. the seller and buyer can also post replies to negative feedback so you can see how a business handles disappointed sellers. i usually spend at least half an hour scouring their feedback first lol

Always try to resolve the issue with the seller first.
oh yeah! forgot about that. paypal asks you to try to resolve it with the seller first. lol
ok so he emailed me back and asked for my paypal email so her can refund me my money. Does that sound ok?

As for the comment about being anti china. My anger comes more towards a few bad ebay encounters I have had. I have had three people try and scam me on ebay in the last three weeks! I was mad because I was so excited to get the chrome on the cube, but now I cant! I am not anti china, I just want businesses to do what they say and say what they do. Regardless of the country!

yeah, that should be fine. if he refunds you, be sure to leave him a feedback saying that although the covers didn't fit, he gave you your money back.
You must have purchased the same covers I did, I bought 2 sets so I would have a handle for the rear door as well, NO GO, not even close to fitting, sent an email and hopefully they return my money as quickly as they did yours
Wow!!!! He refunded my money in two days! I gave him good feedback because he was very nice about everything. Now I have the handles that I am not sure what they fit on. Oh well. All white will be better anyway!
