I don't know if this is normal but sometimes I feel like my cube is automatically occasionally turning off overdrive on its own I get cvt has evolved over time and manufacturers do different things but it's hard to explain but I can try it this sometimes when you're trying to get up to speed but not like a full foot to the floor it sometimes doesn't wanna simulate a shift but when I drive my mom's car which is a 2021 crv and your barely trying to get it up to speed its automatically simulating a gear shift as if it was a normal automatic and not a cvt I don't know if anyone else has seen this happen before or its a sign that it's going out and also sometimes on cold mornings my car makes a weird grrr noise when starting or sometimes putting it into gear

Not sure what year Cube & how often you changed the fluid. We had 2 cvts a new 09 Sentra & a used 2011 Cube which my son still drives with a rebuilt CVT with 60,000 miles. Cube CVT failed at 106,000 with fluid changes at 30,000. I would replace the trans fluid first. The 09 was the best lasting over 200,000 miles oem cvt sold for $900 because of failing NJ state inspection. 09 Sentra CVT Trans would go into limp mode several times over 11 years but, never completely failed only when it was very hot outside driving long distances. Remedy pullover let it cool down and put on heat blasting!
You might want to change the fluid & filters first before then see if this has any improvement. It might be on its way out.
