I believe your talking about CVT fluid. I have a 6 speed manual and replaced the gear oil with Mobil 1 90w synthetic. Hopefully someone who has changed their CVT fluid will reply.

I'm jealous wish we had the 6-speed Cube instead of garbage CVT.I believe your talking about CVT fluid. I have a 6 speed manual and replaced the gear oil with Mobil 1 90w synthetic. Hopefully someone who has changed their CVT fluid will reply.
Wow that’s weird my local Nissan at Fred Bean Nissan in Flemington,NJ they told me that they don’t drop the pan or change any filters they just service CVT using a vacuum type flush service system like jiffy Lube. I had that type of CVT service before with the original CVT it still failed at 106,000 miles. But this is before recently that I knew you can drop the pan and replace the filters. So we had 2 drain and refilled. The cost was $3500 for 😖rebuilt trans. cvt serviced at 30000 now at 60000 only drain & refilled. I didn’t trust that flush service plus in area they don’t recommend it. I guess because imminent failure.Took my 2010Nissan Cube to Mission Hills Nissan (near Mission San Fernando in Los Angeles) to have the CVT fluid changed. They used something in round black bottles. The CVT fluid in the parts department was in rectangular white bottles. Could not get any answers from anyone there about what was in the black bottles. On the bill there was also a charge for a "CVT Additive" with no details and no answers forthcoming.
I'm going to do my son's on Friday and will stick to all OEM parts Nissan NS2 green color fluid. Also dropping the pan & replacing the filters,Has anyone used anything other than genuine nissan ns2 oil? I've seen other oil claiming its a replacement for ns2 but I'm just never sure.
Probably NS3 CVT fluid. It's actually a better fluid than the NS2. That's what I run in my Cube. The only problem is now you have a mixture of NS2 and NS3. You might want to do another drain and refill (NS3) soon.Took my 2010Nissan Cube to Mission Hills Nissan (near Mission San Fernando in Los Angeles) to have the CVT fluid changed. Yes the NS2 OEM fluid is green we just did my son’s 2011 Cube. It was very dark color with only 30,000 miles. Service included new canister filter & remove & clean flat metal filter. Now we will drain & refill earlier at 10,000 miles.I recently dropped the pan on my cube and replaced the strainer, paper filter, and gasket on my CVT. Put back Idemitsu Type N (which is NS2 if you read the bottle) fluid. It is green. I suspect (but haven't verified) that they may make the Nissan fluid? Can anyone confirm? Running well so far but only put a little over 1k miles on the new fluid.
I made a comment in section “Filters and Screens” go look & see if it’s the same? It looks like the same exact shape for a 2011 Cube. Ours was a factory rebuilt trans from the dealer. I didn’t have to mess with the pan gasket. It was still in good shape with only 60,000 miles and I didn’t want to over-tighten any of them. I just tighten them 25 foot pounds that was it. The specs I believe were 8-10 ft lbs which is not tight enough. So the sweet spot for me was about 25 pounds. I put on anti seize on them so I can get them off again. So far no leaks. The ATP B-427 automatic transmission filter kit fit to replace the strainer (metal filter) for myself. Despite all insistence from rock auto that it couldn't possibly fit the cube and that the ATP B-130 model should be ordered (which I did also order just in case and it didn't fit at all and I returned) I went with a new OEM pan gasket though rather than use the one that came in that ATP-B427 kit. Held the pan gasket in place with just a light amount of 3M Silicone paste and over tightened the pan bolts like crazy. Don't do this I snapped one and had to extract it find out now from the service manual those only need to go in at 52 inch pounds of torque. Below is what I took out next to an ATP-427. Below that is what I took out next to an ATP-B130. Anyone have ideas why RockAuto incorrectly insisted the B427 was wrong and the B130 was right?

I don’t trust Rock Auto when it comes to the Nissan crap CVT transmissions. I always go to the dealer with the Vin # number so I can get the correct part the first time. By the way, the dealer did not have that metal flat transmission filter. But had the correct pan gasket which I didn’t need good for a spare.
The OEM filter was still good only a few particles in there. So I use some Dawn dish detergent in a plastic container let soak for 15 minutes or so , flushed it out and dried it with a hairdryer. It was good as new.
I haven't been able to track down that comment in filters and screens?
I just go to the Nissan dealership and purchase NS2. I don’t read into all those claims. I just get what is recommended for the vehicle year make & model.I came across a youtube video that tracked down some MSDS that show Nissan CVT fluid had been made by SOPUS products in TX which they claim was related to Shell and that Nissan stopped using the fluid due to the low quality of the fluid for their NS-2. They also have a MSDS showing Idemitsu is making NISSAN NS-3 fluid. Not sure if this means Idemitsu is now making genuine Nissan NS-2 fluid or not but Idemitsu has made/ may still make fluid for Nissan. Little over 1300 miles on my fresh Idemitsu fluid thus far.
poking around a bit myself found some folks pointing out that SOPUS Shell Oil Products United States
Make sure you change the filter too.I just go to the Nissan dealership and purchase NS2. I don’t read into all those claims. I just get what is recommended for the vehicle year make & model.
