Hey all,

I got my CUBE back from the Nissan dealership here in Amarillo (McGavock Nissan). As I stated earlier I had a wind noise issue. They found that two plastic tabs on the right and left of the windshield (on each side of the wipers) were actually pressing on the windshield. THey removed them then re-installed using the noise reduction foam kit. The noise is gone.

I had a tire pressure warning light that was on all the time; they reset the computer and it is gone. ???

Also, I was getting what sounded like valve tapping with the car in drive stopped. They told me to buy NIssan oil filters when I got my oil changed somewhere either than a Nissan dealer. They said a non-Nissan filter will not hurt the CUBE but, I can expect that sound? ???

Congrats on getting your cube back and fixed too boot.

That statement about using a non-Nissan oil filter and expecting to hear clicking is absurd, I’ve been a mechanic over 40 years and that’s a new one on me. I’ve owned several Nissan’s / Datsun’s and never had an oil filter cause any clicking from the engine. - Dan

+1 on the filter/noise answer. WTH? LOL

On the foam kit, is that specifically made for your issue or is it something available to reduce general wind noise around the A-piller zone? Notice any difference in general sound level?

I took my CUBE back as the noise is still present. They are going to replace the entire panel (black) that sits in the wiper tray. The mech who worked on it said the foam underneath this piece looked compressed. I have 11,000 miles on my CUBE with most miles on the InterState.

If you look at the tray at the top of the hood you can see it is made of three pieces; center, and rt/lft end caps. My end caps flex and the mech said they seem to be buzzing against the glass especially on the right side. Inside the noise sounds like it is coming from the right side visor area. I am wondering if this is a defect or just my car? I will keep you posted.

You should go to the True Delta web site and report on this problem. They are collecting reliability data.

http://www.truedelta.com/reliability.php

The Cube was just added to the car list, so there are only a few entries for the three data collection surveys:
- Reliability
- Why (why not) did you choose to purchase a Cube
- Gas mileage

I registered (it's free) and entered my Cube data so far. For the reliability database, they would like for you to report at least three to four times a year to get things started.

The more people we get to update the database the sooner we will get to see the reliability trend of the Cube.
