I have a 2009 SL with the automatic climate control. I find its behavior in cold weather annoying. If the outside temp is lower than 60, I get pretty warm air if I set the desired temp to 61 or greater. I get pretty cool air if I set the desired temp to 60. I end up running it at 60 for a few minutes until I'm cold, then bumping it up to 61 for a few minutes until I'm hot, and so on.

What I want is air that's not hot and not cold, so I don't have to keep changing the desired temperature. Is there some trick to this, or is the climate control just too smart for its own good?

Something to try. Turn off the a/c button and press the fresh air button. The mode cannot include the defrost. Automatically engages a/c compressor. Adjust the temp to where you want it and the fan. This should put it in Manual. If it goes to one extreme or another there could be something wrong with the heater control valve. my .02 8)
