i haven't test driven the cube yet, but did have a chance to sit in one. they are verrrrry cute with comfy seats!

the dealer only had black seats, no white. but either way, not too happy with the choices. i live in los angeles and currrently drive a black car with black/dark grey interior- many a times, i've said NEVER AGAIN. sheepskin covers helps alot but really having a hard time deciding as i have a larger dog and sometimes haul weird odd dirty things in addition to my dog.

black-hot as hell but hides dirt
white- wow, never had a car with white interior. kind of scared that it'll be high maintenence.

what seat color will you go with and why?

I went with the Krom Edition which has the black and white colored interweaved looking fabric on the seats.

I had been dead set on getting a Cube SL with the light gray interior. But upon driving the Krom Edition, I changed my mind.

I kind of find dark interiors depressing and just flat out like lighter colors.

Light colored interiors do show stains a lot easier. But to counter that, one can simply buy a bottle of 3M Fabric Protector and apply it to the upholstery. I just happened to see a bottle of it in the automotive section at the local Super Target for eight dollars this last weekend.

I just ordered a 1.8S, and the only choices for seats were black or tan. I would have paid to get that Krom "tweed" if it were available. I forgot about Scothgard, I definitely will be doing that to my seats, and then putting sheepskins on them.

As for hauling dirty things, I WILL FIGURE OUT HOW TO PUT A RECEIVER HITCH ON, SO I CAN MOUNT A STORAGE "RACK" WHEN NEEDED. It's not going to be easy, because there isn't much steel to bolt to, but I want to be able to add a bike rack and storage rack when needed.

I've got the light grey interior, and living in Florida I certainly understand the aversion to black interiors. The footwells and floor mats ARE still black, however, so staining is not as much of an issue as you might think. The dealership also told me that some place in Orlando had actually done leather uphostery aftermarket. They allowed you to pick your color. I suspect that if somplace in Orlando did it, you can find a place in LA to do it eventually.

Originally I wanted black, so it could hide any dirt or spills, especially carrying an 8 year old around, black sounded like the color I wanted.

Unfortunately my dealer couldn't find a black interior for me, and could only find the light gray. After looking at the interior online, I'm glad I got the light gray, with the contrasting black and light gray on the inside, to me it adds to the look of the car.

I will probably buy scotch guard to help preserve to light gray, in case of any spills!
