Please do reply and tell us if you got it on time, and detail the removal and install.

Also tell us what you put in the speaker location and how it worked out.

I am curious about the stock speaker and amp but have yet to strip the panel off just for curiosity sake.

Christine ;)

I will include install pictures and info in the electronics section....The reason I ordered an additional panel is because I'm going to mount my amplifiers in the hatch and wanted to be able to cut and mold it to the amps and if I want to take it out just reinstall the original panel. That hatch area is pretty much a waste of space so Im going to use it...

ooh i'm stoked to see how this turns out. i had the same idea. didn't order the premium sound system because i've heard, unless its bose, factory premium sound systems are, in fact, not very premium at all.

so i was gonna eventually order that back panel and see if i could fit maybe a 10" and a good quality amp in there. if not, 8" is fine with me, i don't need others to hear how good my stereo is. as long as it sounds awesome inside the car :p

That is pretty sweet, you can see some body work imperfections in the photos so a close up would probably reveal more but it is sweet none the less. First spray black primer then grey and wet sand till you get an even color or re apply both and do again.

My question is you had to increase wire length to go from that location to the box instead of locating it elsewhere? The entire floor of the cube is foam so you could have cut a hole and made it a body heat sink also. This would have left you a sub location in the door.

You are not seeing any body work imperfections because there is a 1/8 padding that was placed on the panel before I put the vinyle down...What you may see is that the glue did not take in a couple of spots and I went back and had to press down and apply heat to make it take....I have done body work for many years and I did not take the time to wet sand it because it did not need it with the padding. I did sand it with 1000 grit for fina before I added the paddingl. I may change the vinyle color because it kinda bothers me...

The vehicle has 3 12" woofers, 2 amps(one in the hatch and one in the floor under the pass seat), an extra battery under the driver's seat and every door has been rewired, The front doors have FOCAL 165 KRX2 with 300 watts going to them and rear doors have FOCAL 165 CA1 with 150 watts...The subs have 1000 watts going to them..As a source I have the JVC double din touch screen, Bluetooth, sirius sat radio, blue leds that light up the amps at night when you pop the hatch.....So adding wire is not a big deal. I wanted more than a sub in the hatch because you get exactly that sub in the hatch sound. I cut the floor foam for the battery up front and the 4 channel amp under the seat...it worked real well...So adding wire is not a big deal. The wire length is never an issue in a car...the only wire length that you should be careful about is the ground. Never run a ground long....I keep my ground less than 18 inches. The cube is very short so taking the power to the hatch still makes it shorter than an average vehicle. I wanted more than a sub in the hatch because you get exactly that(Plus you can't get 3 12" in a hatch with proper air)...I wanted to put the amp in the hatch because that space is basically wasted and I wanted something different...

As a side note...the switch for the hatch that turns the lights on is a switch ground not a switch positive...I extended the ground over for the leds for the amps

That does look nicely done.
I've been curious if you can take the rear bench in and out (for work space or intalls such as yours). Did you move the bench any while doing your install ??
Thanks
