Has anyone had a bad experience purchasing their Cube?

My experience started off ok but has gotten so bad that I almost regret getting the Cube at all. I was promised by the sales manager that he'd "make everything right" so we'll see when I call him tomorrow. It's just unbelievable how horribly wrong everything has gone so far. :(

That is too bad you've had a bad experience!

Fortunately mine went great, and I did most of my purchasing online and by email.

Let us know what has gone wrong, and if you do get it worked out, which I hope you do get it worked out!

Well, let's see... I was kind of picky... I wanted the SL with the perferred package and the ginormous package in Steel Gray. They were a little put off that I only wanted one color but they did some calling around and found one at another dealership that had the perferred package and my dealership was going to install the ginormous package for me.

Well, when they picked it up it had PART of the ginormous package already installed (rear spoiler, side pieces of the body kit, front and back bumper pieces of the kit) which was fine because it had the parts that I wanted most and my dealership was going to install the rest of the stuff for me as originally planned. The side pieces of the body kit were not completely tight so they told me to bring the car back in a day or two and they'd fix that for me while they sprayed the paint and interior protectant on it. I also noticed a spot of paint that was peeling just under the rear spoiler (it looked like they'd hit it while installing the rear spoiler) and they said they'd fix that too. And they told me that my impact sensors and interior pieces were there so they'd install those as well. They had my car for TWO days.

When I went to pick up the car I was told that the impact sensors and interior pieces were not there even though I'd gotten a phone call saying that they were. They told me that they'd fixed the paint chip and applied all of the protectant stuff... but that they were having trouble tightening the body kit. Apparently the OTHER dealership drilled the holes too big so the kit won't tighten up. They said that they are going to have to get their body shop to repair the issue but that I could take the car (because I was going on vacation) and bring it back to them so that they could fix it and they'd give me a loaner car because they may have it for a few days. When they brought my car around I could CLEARLY see that they did not apply the paint protectant because the bird poop that was on the car when I dropped it off was STILL there... and they told me that they'd have to detail it inside and out before applying the protectant.

So, all the way around I've had a horrible experience... and I'm just hoping and praying that they'll fix everything RIGHT and SOON! :(

Maybe you should consider taking someone along with you to look the vehicle over when you go to pick it up. Don't let them BS you. Your new car should be PERFECT when you get it. You have every right to be picky. It's a substantial investment !!!!!!

you need to rip these guys a new one. that is not cool. yeah...that was/is a terrible first impression of what should otherwise be an exciting time with a new car. just let them know that in addition to complaining in writing and over the phone, they better pick up their game if they want a quality customer survey shop. good luck. keep us posted.

I dropped my Cube off on the 16th... and they still have it. :( They actually called me on the 17th and said that the dealership that screwed up the body kit wants the opportunity to fix it because they think they can fix it cheaper than my dealership. So that dealership wanted MY dealership to drive it 32 miles to them so they could fix it and then drive it 32 miles back to MY dealership so that I could pick it up. I told them NO! They screwed it up once, I want someone else to fix it regardless of what it'll end up costing the original dealership!

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences Ladybug! :(

I wouldn't let them drive it either, it should be up to them getting it fixed for you, without them adding miles to your Cube.

I hope you can get it all worked out with them so you can at least enjoy your Cube! Good luck to you.

I went to pick up my Cube on the 23rd... they claimed that everything was fixed and that it was ready to go. Got there and immediately noticed that they still hadn't fixed the paint chip on the rear bumper. We refused to take the car until it's fixed and left in the loaner/rental again. A different sales manager talked to me this time and said that he was going to personally handle everything from now on... claims he's been the sales manager there for 26 years so we'll see. I expressed my complete dissatisfaction with EVERYTHING about this purchase so far. He actually said "So, other than this mess, how do you like your Cube?" Ummm, if I'd actually get a chance to drive it I might be able to tell him... but as of right now the dealership has had the car for HALF of the time that I've owned it. :(

Unacceptable. I'd bring a lawyer into the pic right now. The stealership should be paying you at this point. What a friggin sleazeball. I wouldn't have left without a commitment in writing when this would get resolved. Sue their worthless asses. Seriously. WTF. I'd totally be livid and make a big scene in their shop. Wow. Good luck.

I finally got to pick my Cube back up on Saturday... so out of the month that I've owned it the stupid dealership had it for a total of 2 weeks. Ugh! I am SO glad to have it back though! And they actually fixed everything right this time. They ended up billing the dealership that screwed up the body kit over $1100 for the repair work! Hopefully this will be the end of the bad luck with the dealership for me. They must have felt bad... they even filled it up!
