i wonder why all american reviews of the cube feature a beige one. are they all testing the same model?

I read somewhere that there is only a very small handful in the States for testing/auto journalists and such. Actually though, I like that beige color very much. I"m hoping they will offer lots of colors and options for the interior, instrument panels, door panels, seats, etc. 8)

They still make me think of manhole covers or giant cast aluminum waffles. Don't get me wrong, I've seen much worse. Like Amnesiac said, "hubcaps suck". Anyone else think they look heavy? ???

I didn't like the AVERAGE 22mpg that I saw in the article. It all depends on how much highway versus city driving that he did when he got his numbers. I can't see the Cube being very efficient at highway speeds with its cube shape being a major drag on aerodynamics. It would burn much more fuel than city driving at lower speeds as the engine would have to work harder to fight the greater drag at faster speeds. At least that's what I remember from high school physics.

Again, the numbers are for the Japanese spec, so I'm sure Nissan would modify the next gen cube accordingly to make it worthwhile in the u.s.

They remind me of a tic, tac, toe grid. I actually like them. Adds nicely to the square/cube theme, but I do agree that they look a bit heavy.

I like the wheels. It suits the Cube.
