Airbag Dash light flashing

I have a 2015 Nissan Cube, and I notice while driving home, the airbag dash light were present. I restarted the car several times, and I even try to reset the computer by taking off the battery terminals, but still nothing changed. Does anyone know the cause as to why this light is present?

If it's the dash airbag light (the one near the radio and AC controls), it's controlled by a weight sensor in the passenger seat. It'll turn on if someone's sitting there or if you set something heavy in the seat. It's just to notify you that it's working.

If it's the HUD airbag light (near the speedometer), then there's a problem with the driver side airbag.

This happened to my son’s 2011 Cube. He was replacing the head unit, added amps & speaker wires. He unplugged the driver air connection to remove the seat. When he reinstalled the seat & reconnected the air bag the red light next to radio stayed illuminated.
So he had no choice but to have Nissan dealer reset it. However, any auto repair shop should be able to reset or replace the air bag if faulty.

Thank you for your response. It is the one near the speedometer that is flashing.

Thanks much.... I am going to get the vehicle checked to see what is happening, whether there's a faulty airbag, or if the system just needs to reset.

Yes I believe so any decent quality scan tool should be able to reset the air bag indicator.
I got the car scan, however the scan tool produce a code B1049 Driver Air Bag Module (clock spring). There is an open circuit in the wires.

Do you know how to troubleshoot the open circuit? I myself don’t know either. If you are skillful enough, try it out otherwise you might have to take it to someone who you know for sure is qualified in this area.

No I don't know how to.... I will have to find a technician who knows what they are doing. Worst case, I will have to replace the clock spring and possible the driver side airbag.

Your Cube is 2015 check with the dealer there might be a recall for the airbag system. Our old 08 Rav 4 had a recall for the same exact thing with the clock spring. Just to confirm my son's 2011 Cube airbag light was illuminated solid next to the radio not in the dash speedometer. Sounds like you got some weird electrical problem for it to just activate. I wish I could help you bro. But, I just know the basics when it comes to electricity. It could be something simple like a loose wire or a metal object that fell between the seats causing this open circuit. Don't give up try the easy common sense stuff first.

I wish it was that easy to link a nissan dealer, but I am in Jamaica, and the Nissan dealer here is Fidelity. They don't work on vechiles that they sale. They do have parts for my car, but just the minimal. I am gonna check to see what else can be done. Thanks much for your support

Watch some YouTube videos how to troubleshoot that code?
Watch some YouTube videos on how to troubleshoot the code for the Cube. Maybe check the vin # on the dealer website for the wiring diagram. The more information you have the easier the tech can possibly troubleshoot the open circuit.

Try getting a code reader or look up on YouTube as in a Versa a more common car.
