Hello. I stumbled onto this forum while looking into the cube. I pick mine up on wednesday and am getting a little ancy.

Here is my question. Is this CVT a Cube specific one, or did Nissan put it into any other cars?

If so, which ones? I would like to find out how many extra hp (if any) it could handle.

it will handle zero add'l horsepower. pretty much. get the 6 speed if you're gonna try to do any real engine mods (besides the usual intake and exhaust). these CVTs aren't meant to handle huge bumps in power. shoots, even the Versas (on which these are based) that are force-fed and bottle fed have tended to implode. i think the JDM Impul Cubes are all manuals too. Hey...ANYTHING can be done right with these things assuming you have the time and MONEY to pull it off! Nothing's impossible!

It all depends on what you want a CUBE for? Good cost effective transportation or eye candy or performance. If I wanted performance I'd buy a Porsche 8)

I definitely am not looking for performance. But it's always nice to play around a bit.

If I was looking at really trying to tweak it up I would have got the six speed.

I bought the car I wanted.

Now, does anyone know the answer to my question, or where I could look it up?

Best intentions aside, I don't need people to explain a cube is not made for high performance, I'm just looking for some specific info.

Your best bet is to check on the Nissan Versa forums. The drivetrains are identical as they are based off the same platform. The US versions of both the Cube and Versa use the same 1.8 liter engine and offer the same CVT transmission.
