Finally found a responsive salesman. Called me back within five minutes on a question about what the LED "hyper daylight running lights" are. No details on where they go, but the price is about $470 plus installation. Ouch. Anyone seen these? Another salesman NEVER called back. But he called again today and said that his sales manager expects 2010s in November, not Spring as is often speculated. He'll call when confirmed.
The 2010 Versa was announced Oct. 5 and he has those on the lot already. Interesting that it now has a navigation system, so perhaps the 2010 Cube will too since they share a lot of parts. I kinda wanted that even though many say a portable unit is better and cheaper. The 2010 Honda Fit has a voice-activated one for $2500 - 25% of the entire cost of the car I looked at. The only thing better about the Fit is the flat-folding (but not sliding) rear seats. Cavernous in there. Otherwise, missing too many luxo features of the Cube such as auto air and iPod connection. And it is constantly shifting up and down on the highway - drove me NUTS! Much slower on hills too. Despite claiming to have traction control, it constantly spun the inside tire on turns on wet streets. Nice, but no Cube.
I'll report on the 2010 as soon as I hear something.
