Thumbs up Cabin Air Filter Replacement

While looking up the cabin filter model number online, I stumbled upon a YouTube video that explains how one may change the cabin air filter WITHOUT removing the glove compartment and its 7 or so screws. I gave it a go this weekend, and while I cannot say it was super easy, it did save quite a bit of time.

Essentially, the cabin filter is accessible without using any tools. For those that have never changed the filter, I would recommend you do it once or twice the traditional way - removing the glove compartment first. That is, you need to get down low and feel your way around the area, without the filter compartment entry being in view.

My memory must be faulty. I must have gotten the idea from amazon when I shopped for replacement cabin filters. I can confirm it works. I did it myself.

Look for the top reviewer, Magpookie at the following link (it has pictures):

Good filter. It's been four months since I replaced mine and it's still working well.

NOTE: You don't need to remove the glove box!!! The only purpose for removing the glove box is for better access but it's not necessary. Here's how:
1) Open the passenger as far as you can.
2) Kneel on the ground next to the car.
3) Use a flashlight and locate and remove the white in-cabin air filter cap (see my pictures).
4) Stick your fingers in the hole and pull out the old filter.
5) Bend the left side of the new filter slightly into a "C" shape and insert it into the hole. Note: make sure you have the air flow direction correct.
6) Replace filter cap.
And that's it! it only took me about 5 minutes. Let me know it this helps.
