Thumbs up Somewhat New Owner - 3 Months

I bought a 2012 Cayenne Red Cube with a 6 speed manual transmission last October. It only had 36K miles. In December I drove it 1,500 miles from Phoenix to San Fransisco and back. I must say, I'm totally in love with this car. My previous vehicle (which I still have) is a 1994 Nissan Pickup that has 280K miles. I bought the pickup in 1999 when it had 40K miles so I personally put 240K and 21 years on it. My cube has so few miles because the first part of it's life was as a show car for 2 Las Vegas dealerships. They would display it in casinos along with other Nissans as advertising. It had a regular owner prior to me, who put most of the 36K miles on it. My cube is in new car shape for being 8 years old and I'm so proud of it that I plan to keep it that way. It sure is nice to know that my Cube has spent it's entire time in the dry desert environment of Las Vegas and Phoenix. Who knows... I may get 20 or so years out of it as well.

After driving my pickup with a 5 speed manual transmission, I can't get over the ease of pushing in the clutch and shifting the 6 speed on the cube. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Cube.

I'm glad I found this forum. I'm sure as time goes by I will refer to it often. Thanks to all you Cube owners who have contributed to this vast Cube knowlege base.

I also have a 6 speed cube except its a 2010 and a daily driver. I have modified it a lot and after the modification, the car drives way better.

1. 100% synthetic amsoil signature series oil (believe it or not the oil is good for 25k I change it around 12k which is about a year) car runs so smooth. I didnt believe the 1 year oil change until I experienced it myself.

2. nst light weight pulley

3. Takeda cold air intake (carb approved)

4. j2 Catback exhaust

5. clazzio seat covers

6. new pioneer stereo with back up camera

7. led headlights and leds all around

8. soon to change manual transmission fluid to redline synthetic

With these mods the car has a bit more pep than stock, cuz stock it sucked especially going uphill.

Thank you for the tips. I immediately changed my oil to Mobil 1 synthetic. I was kind of confused over you remark of "sucked especially going uphill". When I drove to San Francisco, I had to go up the infamous "Grapevine" both ways. I was able to do it at 65mph without ever shifting down from 6th gear. In places it's a 6% grade for over 5 miles.
