P1421 DTC error code - solution

I got the P1421 trouble code on my 2010 nissan cube (25k miles). I have my own OBDII reader and I cleared the code twice and it has come up a third time. I took my car to the nissan dealership at 8am and they did nothing to it. I had to physically show up at 3pm to ask what the status was, and a head mechanic looked up the code and found that the solution was to update the ECM, which he said takes about an hour.

So I took my car home and I am going to bring it back tomorrow to get the update. I will let you all know what the results are.

Not very happy with Nissan service at this point.

EDIT: I took my cube in this morning at 8am and got it back around 12pm. They ended up doing the ECM update to solve the P1421 error. They did not charge me anything since the car was under warranty. They also did the 14 point inspection and check the tire tread. No other issues were found.

The check engine light is now out. I will report back to this forum if it becomes a problem again.

I found my Nissan Cube does this when I let it warm up in the winter. If I clear the code, and don't let it warm up before driving it in the winter the error doesn't return. As soon as I let it warm up, the error comes back. I replicated this a few times.
My theory is that the controller is expecting the timing to be within a certain range after a few minutes. By letting it idle on cold mornings, it doesn't meet this timing and errors.

My state emissions test in due in January, so this is a problem for me. I clear the code (I use the gas pedal/ignition method) then don't let it idle cold until I get 30-50 miles on it so I can get the emissions test done. As soon as I let it idle to warm up, the SES light comes back.
