CVT rebuild

I have a 2009 with a CVT that has 149,000 miles. Ran great one day, the next, wouldn't move when in drive, reverse, low nothing. I've used my diagnostic scanner and get no codes, no check engine light. Im going to take to my friends shop to have him use his snap on scanner. Anyone know of a shop in western New York that rebuilds or where I can get parts to rebuild it my self. Places I've checked with want up to $1000 core charge, so someone must reuse the trannys

I've never read of a CVT being rebuilt, even by the OEM, Nissan on this website. That's not to say it is not done - just uncommon. Perhaps a better idea is to salvage a used one from a junkyard. It probably cost less than rebuilding. too. That is, if you are really certain it is the transmission that is the problem.

I agree with Lifeofriley on a used CVTunit. Make sure you get it from a later car-- 2011-2014-- They seemed to have fixed there transmission issues by then. My 2010 is on it's 3rd transmission-- it was replaced at 30 K miles under warranty back then-- now has 106K miles of happy motoring. When mine failed it did have a soft failure mode so I could get home but not quickly. Best of luck. -- It should also be the same CVT on a Versa so there would be more available.

Many people don't know that Nissan doubled the warranty term for the CVT. Unfortunately, your mileage is beyond that (120k limit). It wouldn't hurt to bring to a dealer and see if they can get an authorization for replacement from Nissan anyway.

Solenoid issues. I've looked onto repairing it myself, not hard it seems, but for the life of me I cannot tell if my 2014 Cube is CVT. I don't have original manual. Are all Nissan cubes CVT?

Unless you have a 6-speed manual you have a CVT.
