Hi everyone. I just got my 2011 Cube Krom edition yesterday and was a little disappointed with the interior accent lighting. In the pictures on the Nissan website, the colors look dark and prominent. But in person, the actual different color lightbulbs aren't that dark or strong, so they don't illuminate the colors that well. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is it just my cube and there is something wrong with the interior lighting package?

Mine are fine and I really like them

I've noticed some colors glow more than others... I personnally find thought the colors are not as "popping" as what Nissan shows. I am satisfied thought with it. I think the lights are not there to flood the interior with light but to gently put an atmosphere... You could post a few pictures if you want so we could see...

Exactly. That's what I am talking about. Seems like the darker colors show more than the lighter colors, and some more prominent than others. Also, seems like 3 or so colors are just different levels of brightness of regular fluorescent lights. Is this normal?

I also found the accent lighting to be somewhat subdued.  Think of them as background, mood lighting, rather than something that will have people in other cars staring at your Cube wondering what is going on inside.  I bought a set from an online vendor for about $59 for another car, and they are quite a bit brighter - almost too bright for nighttime driving.

Ok. I find that the dark colors-blue, green, and red specifically, are very dark, and the others are weak. Also, do you have like 3 colors that aren't really colors-just seem like different levels of brightness-regular bulbs?

Yes, I do find some colors are almost the same.

I've noticed those three colors that seem similar have varying shades of color added to the mostly white light. If it's dark you can see the subtle differences better.

Hi cubists,
I had mine interior accent lights installed by the dealer.  I am not happy with the install.  The passenger's side are fine tucked up behind the bottom apron of the dash, but on the driver's side the are exposed and along the front of the apron.  I think that they should be behind it.  The dealer says no the cant fit. Is this true? Are everyone else's behind the dash?  The pic on Nissan's web site looks like they are hidden.

I'm sure they could have put it in a more tucked away position. I installed after market set of strip lights on my Cube and mine are tucked up and away from being seen.

The lights give just the right amount of color when I drive at night, but the controls are ridiculous.  I think they tried to get too many functions out of that one button.

Agree that the colors aren't as dark as the marketing photos, but some of the ones that show up the best and therefore are the ones I use the most:
Red
Blue
Purple
Green
