Okay pokey folks so here is my final report on the install. I received my Tokico struts/shocks and sway bar yesterday, and I happy to report all is well. I checked out my Ultra sway bar and it is in fact authentic and a nicely made piece.
Install was a breeze, though as others have stated the right side bottom rubber spring mount is a small pita but nothing serious. Just takes some fiddling. Shocks were a no brainer and all told I was done in about 2 hours time.
Cannot overstate the change in the Cube. I was running H&R springs already which made the ride both bouncy as hell and harsh, and did damn near nothing for the handling. Into corners the Cube has always been skiddish in the rear end with a floaty disconnected feeling. With the shocks and sway added to the mix however, it totally transformed it's character.
Heavier steering (still not much feeling but what do you expect), stays very flat once the tires setup in a corner, and the damping has GREATLY improved the ride. Potholes still suck, but all the bounciness is gone and the rear end feels planted. In tight decreasing radius turns I was even able to induce a little lift throttle oversteer with the sway in place. Overall a much more neutral driving experience, and for $500 you can't beat it. Breathed real enjoyment back into the car.
Next up are wheels for me, staying stock size as I have newer Bridgestones already, and I am getting a nice deal on Focal X's in the 15" size. Also Jeff at microimageonline.com was fantastic to work with. Very helpful, taking time to answer all my questions and shipping was fast. I paid $149 for the bar and $350 for all four shocks/struts with FREE SHIPPING. Their website leaves a lot to be desired, but if you know of a part you want it is worth the time to call and have them check on it.
Hope this helps any that are interested, I didn't take any pics but I will if someone wants them. Happy modding campers!
