Replaced my front rotors and brake pads

I got Stoptech Sport slotted rotors and Akebono ceramic brake pads. I could have gotten PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors for less money but didn't want to run into the possibility of getting a cracked rotor in the future.
Replacement was pretty easy. There are two 17mm bolts for each caliper. They are on very tight from the factory. I had a 1/2" breaker bar to break it.

It's a pity we don't have 4 wheel disc brakes like in Europe.

Out of curiosity, how many miles can you get out of a set of brakes?

(I'm a 23 year old that drives like a grandpa, I don't slam on the brakes much. I've put on 30,000 miles since mid-march, but the brakes seem still to work great.)

I've only got 31000 miles on my car, so I'm still on the original front brakes. The rears were changed by the dealer trying to cover up their mistake of not ordering the correct parts to fix my broken abs sensor.

Interesting... from what I read online, brakes can last nearly 50,000-60,000 if you're a careful driver. I know very little about cars, so I could be wrong.

My 01 Volvo S-60 lasted for 60000 miles before I had to replace them. I still miss that car, it gave it's life to save me from a head on collision. My 03 audi a4 only lasted about 40000 miles before dying. All the horror stories about audi are true.

"It gave it's life to save me from a head on collision". Rest in peace little Volvo From what I understand, Cubes are very safe cars. (Top safety pick)

This Cube is basically the first car I've owned, I probably shouldn't be paranoid that it will die. Audi's seem like very nice cars- i'm surprised it died so quickly. Is that a common occurrence?

They are not unsafe, Audi's outside of warranty will constantly break down.
