starting and cranking problems with push button start?

Does anyone have an issue with the push button start? the past few days it has been cold and when I start my cube up in the morning it cranks slow. You can hear the motor or whatever is back there in the dash cranks slow. Could this be a bad battery? It ran fine until it got really cold. I have only had this cube for a year so how could I have a bad battery already? Once it starts and runs for a bit it cranks up better and faster. It has a problem when it sits for a few hours. Anybody have any ideas?

How cold was it? Earlier this week it was 18°F here; our Cube turned over quickly and started immediately. It could be the battery, they are only fully guaranteed for 12 months or 36000 miles. Have it tested

It's the battery. Get it changed before you get stranded. Go to AutoZone. The Duralasts have a 2-3 year warranty. They will replace it for free.

Yeah like the others said, it does sound like a battery issue. When it's cold batteries will tend to crank a little slower and provide less cold cranking amps. But it shouldn't be as bad as your mentioning.

What is the size of the battery? The Service Manual lists 55D23L, but searching that number on auto store websites results in "nothing found". I can't find a website that lists a battery for a 2009 or 2010 Cube.

if it is the battery, and you've only had it a year, wouldnt it be covered under warranty?

Not sure what the factory warranty is but it might also depend on how the dealership puts it. If they consider it as a normal wear and tear item then it might not be covered still..

Not bad if it's under a year. But if it is in fact the battery needing replacement then I'd go get an aftermarket one and install it myself. And save a ton of cash.
