my 2010 Nissan cube Krom has about 35,000 miles but I had problem to start the engine by pressing the keyless entry start button. I called AAA and towed my car to the Nissan dealership. Guess what,
they found out my steering wheel lock system has malfunction!!!!! My friend sent me a Nissan recall letter regarding all the 2009 Nissan Cube has the steering wheel system problem and the dealer should fix it for free. However, my car is 2010 model, so I called to the Nissan Recalls & Voluntary Campaigns and they opened a case for me to investigate. During that time, the dealership got me a loaner to drive and I had to wait for few days in order to get a feedback from the Recall Campaign. Two days later, the recall case investigator called me and told me that unfortunately my car was 2010 model and my VIN # was not on the recall list....that means they couldn't do anything for me!!!! i paid almost $950 for the new steering wheel lock system & the labor cost. I was so disappointed coz my car has really low mileage and I kept it in good shape.
They should have repaired my car for free due to the recall issue happened to all the 2009 Nissan Cube models on the same STEERING WHEEL LOCK problem!!!
I won't buy any Nissan cars again....
My questions are
1) Should i sell my car now
(I still like My Cube and it's fun to drive and low milage only 35K)
2) Does anyone has steering wheel lock problem after replacing a new system? coz i'm so worried and i don't know how long it will last even they replaced a new steering wheel lock for me
3) I heard that someone posted the transmission will have issue around 50K... is it a common issue to all the 2010 Cube drivers
Thanks a lot!
